According to multiple reports, Beno Udrih has decided to sign with New York on a one-year deal for the veteran minimum (Al Iannazzone of Newsday was first).

Good addition. It'll be interesting to see how much he plays with Ray Felton and Pablo Prigioni at lead guard + Iman Shumpert and JR Smith at off guard.

Surprised Udrih couldn't find a more regular for a strong team somewhere else.

The Knicks reported went after him hard but had only the vet min to offer. Maybe they promised him a significant role.

Good on paper. With low pressure on Bargnani that front court could be impressive and I think they compliment each other well.

I wouldn't be surprised if Udrih ends up being the primary back up.  I like him.  If Smith isn't healthy to start the season I could maybe see them playing 2 point guards at once with Felton guarding the 2 guard.

I also think Udrih will be the primary backup for sure. Prigioni didn't exactly do a great job last year, and doesn't have much promise. The Knicks really went hard after Udrih because they don't have confidence in Prigioni or even Felton too much.
