I've seen some people be really upset that PP wont retire in green and deserves so.
I don't blame them, but I also don't blame DA for pulling that trigger and giving us a chance to rebuild/reload on the fly faster then if PP stayed for one or two more years. Also didn't want to see either KG or PP wast there last couple GOOD years barely making the playoffs.
But who said PP wont come back for a season? Or even half a season? Its not like he has a 5 year contract with Brooklyn. He's there for one year. Maybe two if things are going well and he signs a 1 year.
But listening to him yesterday he really wanted to be here at the end of career. He also said some thing about having a 2 hour drive for games. Which kinda sounded like he was staying in the Boston area, or at least keeping a house there and just renting in Brooklyn.
I could see PP coming back next year or the year after and sign a vet min to finish it off. If he came back next season what a way for DA to get a bunch of picks for a PP one year rental.
The dream would be KG and PP to come back in a couple years, sign vet min and play one last season even if its more for the experience, teaching the young guys tricks. Because if DA does his job well and with a little luck could have some really good pieces and be ready to contend.
I just wouldn't be surprised at all if PP bolts the Nets to get back in green next season.
