  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism
I moved to FL about four years ago, but still am up in Boston in the summer. When I hear Felger now, I can't help but cringe - he's basically a jerk who just argues for the sake of arguing. I think I actually used to like Sports Tonight - could it be that I just liked Dickerson? Weird.

i think maz is ok, as i think he is objective.  however, i find that he hops on the felger train and is kind of a puppet at times.  felger is just an idiot when it comes to the celts and has an agenda.  too bad, bc i like felger when he talks about anything other than the c's

Felger is the epitome of a troll, he just looks to get a rise out of celtics fans.

Beetle is really getting on my nerves lately though, he used to act as a voice of reason and now just serves up, "Hot sports takes" which are him doubting other people's reporting

Eh, when you say he has an agenda, you make it sound like he cares.  The problem is, he doesn't care.  Basketball hasn't been his sport since the Bucks went into the tank years ago.  He hates the NBA, and only watches or follows it when he really needs to, in order to do his job.

What his real agenda though, is to stir up conversation.  Since he doesn't care about it himself, he will just take stances on everything that will stir up the listeners the most to make for entertaining (but not informative) radio.

Tanguay on the other hand?  He is just an idiot, and the worst kind of sensationalist, who puts himself in the middle of everything.  Felger plays the bad guy, which is annoying at times, but I can respect that.  Tanguay just makes stuff up, and claims to know more than everyone else.  Felger is generally very open with the fact that he knows very little about the NBA these days.

eh,i said he had an agenda, i said nothing about whether he cares.  his agenda is to be a troll and get a reaction, no matter the type of reaction

My personal favorite was when he said Rondo wasnt hurt when he dislocated his elbow against the heat "because he played with it"

Him and most others in the Boston media seem to loath Rondo and want him gone. I have been finding it harder and harder to listen to them.

o thank you and TP...so it's not just me who hates Felger and Mazz...I love it when they receive a call on their show and gets called out, and their comeback is cutting the line and respond...cowards, they cannot debate in basketball

I got heated when they criticized Brad Stevens for complimenting Rondo...dude what do you want them to say??? And they are so persistent in trading Rondo! or that Rondo is cancer...

I hate them so much :(

If Stevens didn't say anything about Rondo they would be making a big deal out of that as well. They hate the NBA and I feel should just leave it alone unless a guest with some knowledge comes on (e.g. Jackie Mac)
