Let's face it, the whole Nets thing was a salary dump. I think neither KG nor Pierce want to follow the ex-KGB owner into the Big Apple.

Well, once they re-coup their final paychecks, they'll pretty much, be good for Vet's minimum. At that point, couldn't both of them return to Boston and give 5-12 mins, for the rest of their careers (ala 40-somethings like Reggie Miller or John Stockton), at Vet's minimum? Then, both get to retire as Celtics, be a part of franchise history, and the years from '13 to '15 will simply be remembered as 'The Great Hiatus'.

Conceivably, if they wanted to do that, but I have a feeling they would rather retire then play for the min.

That would be cool though if they came back as our PJ Brown Sam Cassells when we are ready to compete again.

They could also just sign a one-day contract for $1 and retire.

I highly doubt they want to come back and play 15mpg for a rebuilding squad.

Pierce may head elsewhere after one season in Brooklyn.  He will be an UFA.

KG may retire either after next season or the following.

Don't worry.  They'll retire as Celtics, have their numbers retired, and go into the Hall as Celtics.

God seeing them in another jersey makes me sick. Just doesn't look right.

At 5-12 mins per contest, they'll be almost back in their former all-star form and thus, will be more effective than either PJ or Sam.

PP & KG, unlike many other stars, have the ability to last into their 40s w/o a problem, provided that they're not asked to play real minutes.

That's going to be a bummer for the Nets when they lose in the 2nd round of the playoffs, Pierce leaves, KG retires, and they are still way over the cap.

In this scenario, I would have rather had their 2015 pick. They are going to have a real down year before Prokhorov makes a huge splash again. Let's just hope it's in the 2016-18 timespan.
