I can't believe it is really over.  I remember how excited I was in 1998 when we drafted Paul Pierce!  I had no idea how good he would really be or how much joy he would bring to my life!!  It seems like yesterday I was running through the house screaming, We just got Kevin Garnett!!  That turned out to be one of my favorite seasons as a celtics fan!!!  I watched
Bird, McHale, and Perish that was great!! But this was so special, we had lost for so long that I had given up hope, then out of no where we had the new big 3!!  We didn't have to wait long before they brought us number 17! Of all teams we beat the Lakers!!!  It was like a magical dream!!!  I will cherish it for the rest of my life!  So thank you Paul, Kevin, Ray and Doc!!! You will be missed, but Thanks for the memories!!!!!!!

I remember being on the forums 6 years ago expressing my excitement for the new Big 3 era.

Here we are 6 years later... so sad right now.

About 80% of the other teams wish they had a six year run like this. Not even the Bobcat's of the league but the Pacer's, Blazers, Rockets, Jazz etc.

It was amazing but life moves on. Thanks to all everyone in green for these last few years.
The Nets will finish with the worst record and the Celtics will end up with the 4th pick.

This trade was like going to the store for a $.27 loaf of bread with a dollar and coming back with no change. Captain Doc Bligh was a disaster at the helm. If he were smart he'd retire and save himself more embarrasement.

I cant believe that Paul is gone. Thanks to Kg, Ray and Doc for all the memories, but Paul was my favorite player ever  :'( he is the reason i play basketball and he will hold a special place in my heart. Yeah i know its a business and this trade benefited us, but i wish he could have retired a 1 team player. it wont sink in that he is gone for a while, and not seeing number 34 in the starting line-up will be a real shock.  :'( :'( :'( :'( im shattered that he is gone but Thanks to him for all the great memories and how he stuck with us through thick and thin. Good luck to them all in future endeavors (except ray  :P) I will miss them all

Nice post.
I cannot believe no one mention Danny and Wyc.
Thanks to both of them for their vision, devotion and professionalism. Without them, none of this would have been possible.

I will still root for Doc, PP, KG and Jet...except when they're playing against the C's.

Thank you Big Three, Doc, DA, everyone.  It is the end of the era but they gave us very special memories and competed at the highest level.  I think if we stayed healthy the whole run we could have had 3 titles out of it, but I'll settle for the one and some very memorable championship tilts against the Lakers.

I still don't know if Perkins for Green was the right move at the time.  I think if we had pried away Harden, even if we had to throw in extra assets, it would have been worth it but... oh well.  Can't change history.  We still had a great run.  Time to move on but thank you great Celtics players of the past.

I'm just not at the point where I can think in these terms ... this is just tragedy for me, and it will take quite a while to digest, get past, and give blessings to. I've been through many "lean" years with this team before, and now many of our younger contingent will get a taste of what that really means. Thing is, we at least always had Paul. Man, I'm just heartbroken, and it will be a good while before I am in a "thanks for the memories" state of mind. Just me.
