KG is still a player with one of the highest defensive ratings in the entire league.  DUde can be the epicenter of LA's defense.  For the next two years at least... KG will be better than DeAndre.  And then both are free agents.  There's a reason why CP3 wants KG over Deandre.... KG is a superior player.

I think the issue has more to do with receiving draft pick compensation from a team to release your coach from his contract.  I don't think that's ever happened... it's very odd.

if kg is so bad and DAJ is so good...then...why are the clippers drooling...

Because the Clippers, with KG, Doc and Pierce, are legit championship contenders.

The Celtics with KG, Doc and Pierce are exactly what we were last season - a fringe playoff team.

In LA Pierce and KG are the 3rd and 4th scoring options behind All-Stars Chris Paul and Blake Griffin.  This suits their physical abilities at this point in their careers because there is no demand for them to pay big minutes and carry a team.  Also LA has cap space, so the big KG contract of KG is fine for them.  Plus they get to negotiate a new, much reduced contract for pierce once he is bought out.

In Boston those guys are the two best players on the team, so pressure is on them to carry the team.  As could be seen last year, these guys are to old to do that on a consistent basis.  Boston p--- also at the luxury tax limit, meaning they'd have to pay a fortune in tax next year despite not having a contending roster...lose-lose for them.  Plus if they keep pierce they need to pay him $16M, which kills the team's cap and ability to sign extra players to actually allow them to contend.

Clippers are smiling because they aee in a different situation to us.

How did it happen with SVG then thought that's how it went down?

DAJ has more good years ahead of him than KG does folks.   KG will be the better player but DAJ has ten years left and KG as two.

I don't think your 'cardinal rule' necessarily applies to a tanking & rebuilding team, which is precisely what this team is right now.

according to stern by getting deandre we were getting overcompensated for trading kg, that's why they veto the trade, kg according to stern is now some type of trade filler of similar value to dj white

Kind of tells you how far from being legit contenders the Clips are.

its funny because KG was a starter on the all-star east team. wonder how KG feels about stern's valuation, i hope a reporter asks him next time the media see him.

DeAndre Jordan will never be a 30 minute player.

Think about that.

He is athletic and long and can rebound and dunk like nobody's business.   Very exciting.  And he seems like a likable kid.   He can be a starter on most teams.

But he won't ever be a finisher on any good team.

Because he sucks beyond suck at shooting free throws.   And it's pretty clear by now that he will always suck at free throws.   Shaq looks like freaking Ray Allen compared to Jordan.

On a bad team, sure, leave him out there at the end of games.  If you are tanking, why not?  And maybe that artificially boosts his rebound and point totals so he has more trade value.

But he'll never be able to stay on the floor in late games for a good team.   So he'll never be more than a 25 minute player on a good team.

NBA Officiating - Corrupt?  Incompetent?  Which is worse?  Does it matter?  It sucks.
