First off this trade only works if Chris Paul wants it to happen and agrees to resign with Clippers and Paul can sell KG on joining him.

Clippers gets KG
CLipper sent Butler + Bledsoe

Boston gets Butler + #7 pick
Boston sends Kg

Kings get Bledsoe
king send #7

Mavs
Wiz
Hornet

Um The Celtics say no. We trade KG for Butler someone who we do not need with Jeff Green and Paul Pierce still here as of now. The only reason i would say do this is if we could move up and get one of the two first picks in the draft.

I posted without adding my thoughts as to why this would be plausible.

Celtics,

Adding the #7 pick and an expiring deal is a decent return for KG. If DA wants to reload this team and avoid a decade of rebuilding this is the kind of move he needs to make. With a wide open lottery at #7 the Cs could be looking at Olidipo, Bennett, Len, or Burke. Obviously some are better fits then other but all have talent and value. The Cs could then look to move Butler right away or if pierce isnt brought back keep him till allstar break and move him then.

I would also expect this to be proceeded or followed by a PP trade. something in the lines of Richard Jefferson and a 1st for PP. Basically an expiring contract and future 1st round pick.

The same way that DA flipped young players and picks for KG and Ray the goal is to amass pieces to flip. My plan A would be to an eventual asset unloading that lands Love or Aldridge. ex Butler + Sully/AB + kid picked at #7 + 2014 1st + 2016 protected 1st for Love or Aldridge

Clipper

KG keeps chris paul happy. If Paul is happy bledsoe becomes expendable. They still have Jordan and now have KG to lead them for a playoff run and finish games for them.

Kings

Get a good young PG who already has a relationship with Cousins and is already a proven NBA player.

It is an excellent return for KG.

To get a mid-lottery pick for someone as old as KG is daylight robbery.

  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism
Getting any assets for KG/Pierce is better than none. I get the side that wants those two to ride off into the sunset as Celtics, but is it really that big of a deal?

Honestly, if we could find a way to seriously contend with KG/Pierce, then that is choice number one; otherwise, I really think we need to cash in our chips...while we still have chips - and, you could do worse than the #7 pick.

I wonder why not? Cousins is a good pickup - Young Big Man Talent is hard to find. The Celtics need to look at rebuilding. It is an unfortunate position to be in but Cousins is cheaper than someone like Andrew Bynum or Josh Smith.
The beatings will continue until morale improves
