hahah patrick ewing would be shattered if jkidd gets a hc job a month within retiring.

I don't know why some of you think he needs to be an assistant first, it's not like this would be the first time an ex-player's first coaching job was as an NBA head coach.

Off the top of my head:

Mark Jackson
Danny Ainge
Larry Bird
Doc Rivers
Isiah Thomas

And they all put teams in the playoffs too, I believe.
