Discuss, could he replace Doc assuming he does not return?

According to the Memphis Commercial-Appeal, Hollins was informed his contract would not be renewed for next season.

That's really disappointing. He's the top coach in the market though.

"I've always said J. Green is going to be one of the best players to ever play this game"

Not wowed by Hollins. Very good defensive coach but failed to blend their power game in the post and Rudy Gay together offensively. OJ Mayo too.

Not convinced he is more than a middle of the pack coach.

Needs an offensive bench coach but a fantastic defensive coach and a great leader. Good for a young team that hasn't figured it out (what Memphis was) or a vet team that needs leadership (would have been ideal for those late2000s hawks teams) neither of those are th celtics.

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.

I don't think they had a playoffs together in the last 3 seasons did they?
Gay went down, next year Zbo went down, and this year they traded Gay. Very hard Job for him when Spurs started doubling in the post...they just didn't have any shooters other than Conley or Pondexter. Give him Rudy Gay or a perimeter threat and it's probably a different story considering they went to 3 overtimes against the Spurs.
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.
