Not sure how the salaries work out

But get Splitter and Matt Bonner for Kevin Garnett

It basically allows San Antonio to get over their hump...Duncan/KG frontcourt would be unbelievable; KG, Duncan, Tony Parker all expire at the same time as well. It gives them 2 years to contend

Gives us a center to build around into the future, Bonner is thrown in for salary purposes if need be i guess...he'll also be servicable at the very least

We use Pierce to land us a Power Forward, one of Al Jefferson, Josh Smith, or Paul Millsap [At least that's what we should do ideally]

We then tank it through next year

and work with that year's draft pick
Rondo/Green/Splitter/That Power Forward

If we tank it out we can get one of: wiggins, Parker, julius randle, james Young,  marcus smart; else we can trade that player for a legit all star and package the rest of our assets for another one...remember that tank year

how does a roster with Rondo, Green, Splitter, Your PF Choice, Sully, Bass, Lee, AB, JET, Crawford tank?  that roster with vet min fillers still makes the playoffs in the East.

For some reason too people feel like Splitter is this new youbg cat. The dude will be 28 by next season. Not really a fan of him as a starter
*CB Miami Heat*
Kyle Lowry, Dwayne Wade, 13th pick in even numbered rounds, 18th pick in odd numbered rounds.

I don't think San Antonio would give up Splitter to get KG. Garnett is too old.

It looks like they want Splitter there long term. Along with Kawhi Leonard to help bridge that gap into a post-Duncan era. Guys who can maintain their core values and cultures and be key glue guys today and grow into more important players in time.

Agreed ...

G - Rondo, J.Terry
G - Bradley, C.Lee
F - J.Green
F - Sully, Bass
C - Splitter

I think that is a 40-45 win team. Maybe a little more depending on whether they can get something useful from dumping Pierce and/or how well they fill out those remaining spots.

That team is too talented to get you up near those top draft picks.

Tanking wouldn't really be a viable option.

Yeah I don't understand the whole tanking idea either. Even without KG and Pierce, playing the rest of the squad as is with a healthy Rondo and Sully could arguably compete for the 8th seed... Adding a good young hybrid center, a role playing hustle and shooting big man plus smith, Jefferson, or Milsap puts us near contention for home court advantage and a top 4 seed.

I just don't expect that team to truly contend

I feel like a tank year's pick + this year's draft pick + bradley and whatnot will open the doors for a trade for that piece for us to truly contend

Why would KG want to play in San Antonio again?
Jeff Green - Top 5 SF

[Kevin Garnett]
"I've always said J. Green is going to be one of the best players to ever play this game"

Because they are a legit contender and even at 37+ years of age KG and Duncan would make an absolutely ridiculous defensive tandem downlow.

The answer to me is no.  Bonner is a backup and Splitter is a little above average plus not really a good rebounder which is one of our 2 biggest weaknesses (the other is no post game).  Not enough in my opinion to make the trade and I don't think KG would agree to it either...
