He was a top 3 projected pick last year , and fell because of the back issues, but if the back is fully healthy now just how good can he be ?

I love his rebounding , passing , defense , and ability to score around the basket . He has a really high IQ to me , and seems to play with passion too . and he has a good looking J too!

I could really see him becoming a David west type player , any other comparisons ?

man , watching these highlights makes me rethink my opinion of blowing it up this year .

It's just that Paul looked soooo old though .....

hmmmm

Dwight Howard came back from a back surgery and he did fairly well. It was just his shoulder and drama-queen attitude that held him down most the time.

I have some high hopes for Jared Sullinger!

D west way more athletic. Sully's good but he can't jump over a six pack.

Off the bench? I see Sully as a starter.  He's got a great feel for the game, and has shown that he can both hit threes and post his big behind in the low block. As a rookie, he didn't get much of a chance to do either this year.

In his short rookie window, Sully also showed signs that he understand NBA team defense.  Hopefully he can become a smart position defender like Haslem.  I think he's one of those guys who is just a basketball player, and expands his game every summer.  If the team strays together, I see him as a starter with KG, and Bass off the pine.

Athleticism is a subjective call, but Sully had a 29.5 standing leap at combine, at 10% body fat, and West had 28.5 at 8% BF.  Sully had a slightly better running jump and agility time, but West had a faster sprint.  West had a three inch wingspan advantage.  Hopefully the back surgery will stretch Sully out a few inches.  West was never a leaper, and now is one of the most ground bound players in the league.

If Sully can continue to work on his condition, he and his big rump can be effective as a post player in today's small ball NBA.  If he can ever get the post game of a David West, he will be a marginal all star.

The Zach Randolph comp is really good. Sully can be a Randolph-like post scorer and rebounder, no doubt.

I like the Zach Randolph comparison most.

He can be a 22/11 guy at his best.

Agree, but with a little less scoring. Although I'd certainly be happy if he turned into zach randolph. I see him as 15/10 in 2 seasons. We'll see if he can get better than that.

according to my friend, a guy with a herniated disc should lose some weight and strengthen the core. If Sully is gonna be part of our future, he has to at least do something about his weight.

He would have pushed bass to the bench this his rookie year.
Easily a ten ten guy.  Only reason I would say ten points is that he should be fourth option.  Very very impressed with his all around play

I think "poor man's Boozer" is a good way to look at Sullinger.  Luis Scola is another guy I'd look at as a positive comp.  David West is probably the "best case scenario" ceiling for Jared.

As far as numbers go, Sully was 10/10 per 36 this season.  I think in future seasons as he gets more confident and assertive, polishes his jumpshot, and becomes a bigger part of the offense, he could be more like a 14-15 pt / 9-10 rebound guy playing 34-36 minutes a night.  You can add a couple assists and maybe a steal or a block to that, too.

In other words, I think Sullinger can be an above average starting PF, but never an All-Star.
You’ll have to excuse my lengthiness—the reason I dread writing letters is because I am so apt to get to slinging wisdom & forget to let up. Thus much precious time is lost.

I have high hopes for Sully as well. Kid just has a feel for the game. If he can work on his post game more he def. Could be a Z-bo type player.
