The Celtics regularly make energetic young big men -- particularly those with above average length and size -- look like All-Stars.  So I don't think statistical noise is all there is to it.
You’ll have to excuse my lengthiness—the reason I dread writing letters is because I am so apt to get to slinging wisdom & forget to let up. Thus much precious time is lost.

I thought this was going to be a thread about how every average young player who suits up in Celtic green suddenly becomes known as a "futcha hall-ah-famah"  round these parts.

  • Be the posts you wish to see in the world.
Well, Greg Monroe is no scrub, but he's no superstar either, and he sure looked like one last night.

Add Tristan Thompson to the list.
Once you are labeled 'the best' you want to stay up there, and you can't do it by loafing around.

Add Tristan Thompson to the list.

He looks like Bill Walton in his prime

Add Tristan Thompson to the list.

It should be noted that with the recent scrutiny of the cavs and particuarly Byron Scott, Thompson called himself and his teammates out for the ten game losing streak, not Byron. I was worried coming into tonight because Tristan lit a fire under his own butt.
Practice? Whatchu talkin about practice?

Funny how that kind of thing seems to happen when Boston's the opponent. Your team's lost 10 in a row? Just play Boston! So-and-so's been in a shooting slump? Just play Boston!

But back to the subject of this thread: Yes, add Mr. Tristan Thompson to the list—tonight the Cs turned him from promising youngster into a Hall of Famer.

Honorable mention: Alonzo Gee, a small forward averaging 3.8 rebounds who snagged 10 tonight; and Kevin Jones, a little-known, little-used rookie averaging 1.6 rebounds who grabbed 8 tonight.
