I agree in part with the OP. I can do without Birdman, but Martin would have filled in that tough guy role admirably. At least he'd actually have logged some minutes.

I'm fine with what Danny did, although I wanted Kenyon Martin for the minimum as we needed any frontcourt help since Darko was cut  :'(

Maybe Danny is done with bringing in veteran past-their-prime former stars. Now that this is Rondo's team, we're bringing former prospects like T-Will and Crawford, and I like it. It's not that the old movement was that successful.

As far as Birdman, never been a big fan, true that pretending him to defend Iron Man Green is unfair, he's lost a step or two physically, but he's getting just decent numbers per 36 (9 reb 10 points 2 blks... and 6 fouls). I don't know Shavlik, but I'd rather have DJ White who at least can shoot from over 3 feet.

We still need a 7 footer who can defend in the post and block shots, and unless Fab Melo gets inspired, we won't get that guy until at least next draft. K-Mart or Birdman wouldn't solve this need either.

I wasn't thrilled with birdman but i'd been pushing for Martin the whole year.

It was kind of mind boggling why he wouldn't sign him.

We have Fab Melo and DJ White.. skills-wise, they're good enough for me (as role players) but Doc doesn't play em.. He's just so in love with Bass!  ;D

I've been a broken record about Birdman all year, so there I will very much agree.

I pushed for Andersen all off-season, so you won't hear me arguing with you.  He would have been a great fit in terms of defense, rebounding, and attitude.

Im in the same boat as you. An athletic big man that can hustle, get boards, and block shots 20 minutes a game. He's a vet, Doc would have played him. He would have been the perfect big guy off the bench to provide the team with defensive energy.
