yea Paul is a trooper,   but its all but over for this years run ,   maybe they will be luckier next year......it's  sad thing to watch this team self destruct
I would hardly call what has happened to this team as self destructing.  We lost Rondo, Barbosa, Sully, KG, and Lee to injury and have two guys working their way back from open heart surgery and one from double shoulder surgery.

The team is still going to the playoffs and can atleast try and make a little noise.

Let's all get a little perspective and try to enjoy what this team is doing despite the bad hand they have been dealt this year.

This reminds me of the two years before KG and Ray arrived. Paul Pierce, only much older, trying to will a bunch of hyperactive knuckleheads to a win, any win. Tons of turnovers, hectic play. Fans waxing poetic about their binkies and hopefuls.

Crawford and Bradley are some combination of Tony Allen and Ricky Davis. Our hopeful lofty expectations of Jeff Green are like Al jefferson. A bunch of non rebounding big guys.

Must be a bad flash back for Pierce...

Poor bubby. Putting 15 million away to be one of the best at your craft in the twilight of your career must be so hard.

I don't buy it.

I buy it.  Pierce isn't thinking about the money right now, he's thinking about his chances for another championship slipping away.  He's always cared about winning.

Easy to say he's not thinking about the money when he's making money lol.

KG: "Dude.... What is up with yo shorts?!"

I don't think he's unhappy nor do I feel sorry for him. He's had an amazing career, he's a lock for the hall of fame and will retire as a Celtics legend. Yes it would have been nice to be a legit contender this year, but realistically even without all the injuries we would have had a very difficult time getting past the Heat. He's already got a ring which is more than many other great players can say. I also think retiring a Celtics is much more important to him than contending for a championship elsewhere.

This is clearly still a much better team than the 06-07 team, and it's not as if KG is out for the season and it's just the Pierce and a bunch of scrubs show again. He'll be back in no time and it'll be back to the same above average but not incredible team we've seen since Rondo went down.

TP for you.

Guess I should have picked a different title...

To feel sorry for Paul Pierce this season would be shortsighted. To feel sorry for Paul Pierce in the grand scheme of things would be ridiculous. Perhaps, you can feel bad for the guy in a snapshot of time, where it looks like he is struggling to carry a bad team.

The point was, without Garnet and all the other injuries, watching the team struggle against a bad team looked like life before the Big3. PP, some hopeful upside guys and the chinese cast-offs looked a lot like (but slightly better than) the scrubs from before championship aspirations.
