With Rose, they are in NO way the "best team in the league" anymore, so that's not as relevant this year

I've been hearing he's waiting until he can dunk confidently off his left leg, which he can't. He's already out for tonight... But I think it'll be fine if he just sits the rest of the year. I don't believe he can just come back for the playoffs. Different game and too big a shock. There's still twelve games in the regular season though.

It's all in his hands, not "god's". That part is definitely mental. If he comes back, I hope we don't play them.

You don't believe the Bulls were the best team in the league with a healthy Rose?  I dunno man... they were the most dominant defensive team in the league, lead the league in wins and were being picked by most people to win the title.  They were basically the new Celtics once Thibs took over.  I still say a healthy Bulls team is the only team capable in the East of knocking off Miami.

Nope. They was bounced pretty easily two years ago against a Miami team that was gelling all season. Bulls have a consistent defense but not enough offense. Comparing them to the C's is just wrong. Deng and Noah will never be as good as a KG and Pierce were even 5 years ago.

Rose should sit out the year. Barring a massive letdown Miami is going back-to-back.

Because in 2011, a 22 year old Rose, and a 25 year old Noah and Deng lost to the Heat 4-1, so they have no chance in 2013?  They went 2-2 with the Heat in 2012, and Noah and Deng have both become All-Stars since then.  Hey I was one of the people who really thought the C's had no chance against the Heat in 2012, after all they looked dead against the Heat in 2011 playoffs losing 4-1, and the majority of the C's core was in serious decline.  That same Heat team didn't look to good against the Mavs in 2011 either.  A season or two makes a big difference.  I wouldn't judge the Bulls by their 2011 ECF performance.

I'm not saying the Heat's not the better team, but I wouldn't at all be surprised if the Bulls were able to beat them in a 7 game series (with a healthy Rose).  Definitely a match up I'd like to see.

Well they were certainly better in 2011 than they were last season or this one. Hard to judge them any differently. Rose has too much pressure scoring the ball for Chicago to win a title. The Bulls remind me a lot of those LeBron led Cleveland teams.

Not at all. Tha man wants to be at full strength when he comes back. He said he wants to wait until he can comfortably dunk off of his left leg. I see no issue with that. Yes he is cleared to play, but I support his decision in wanting to be at full strength before he returns.

Would it be weird if Rondo was cleared to play but wanted to wait until he felt he was fully ready, comfortable, and 100% healthy before stepping on tha court?

The same Rondo who finished out a playoff series with an arm that he couldn't bend? It would be fairly weird.

How so? It was tha playoffs. Not tha regular season. Tha playoffs are a whole different ball game. And it was a series against tha Heat. I'm sure if KG had an injury during anytime in tha playoffs he would have gutted it out just like Rondo did.

I gained mad respect for Rondo for that too btw.

If Tom Thibodeau is better at something than he is at defense, it's running his players into the ground and over-playing them.  Rose would be smart to avoid coming back until he is prepared to play a stretch of 40 minutes per game.

I'm rooting for Rose to come back and fail so badly that Chicago wants to blow things up and do a salary dump of bigs on long contracts when the Celtics may be in a position to acquire some of them in the summer of 2014.  I would love to see Joachim Noah in Green....if Thibs hasn't completely destroyed him by overplaying him.

How were they certainly better in 2011?  They had a better win percentage last year (despite Rose missing 20% of the season)... they had the best record in the league.  Rose got injured in the first game of the playoffs and they lost in the 1st round.  A healthy Bulls team was the favorite in the East... not Miami.

This is Bulls fans biggest criticism of Thibodeau. He treats EVERY game like it's the NBA Finals. The regular season is just that, the regular season.

Yeah, I laugh every time someone complains that Doc overplays certain players and in the same post suggests that Thibs is better.

With Asik, Korver, and Rose they could have been great.  No way the current Bulls plus Rose can challenge Miami.

Noah is a lot better this year (12.1 ppg, 11.4 rpg, 4.1 apg, 1.2 spg, and 2.2 bpg). Jimmy Butler has blossomed into a very good player; think of a Kawhi Leonard. Nate has been great, and Belinelli fills in Korver's role (remember his game winner against us?).

There is a way that the Bulls plus Rose can challenge Miami. The drop off, if there even is one, is minimal.

Then they got beat in the 2011 ECF by Miami in 5 games. Yes the Bulls were the best in the regular season but people always say, you get judged in the playoffs. So if we're talking about "judging" the bulls, you definitely judge them by how they performed in the 2011 ECF. No one was injured then and they got bounced easily.
