A couple of thoughts after the preseason and last night's game:

1. I think we miss Pietrus. He brought size to the wing with his ability to play both SG and SF. I think we are very small at the guard positions with Rondo, Lee, Terry, Barbosa, and Bradley. I think we could easily release Collins with little repercussions and should try to bring in Pietrus...not sure if he has signed elsewhere.

2. We need to get Terry into his familiar SG role. We are wasting his tried and true shooting ability by having him try to run the offense. Terry and Lee should be putting up 8+ threes between them every game. Not sure if Bradley's return will fix this, but I am definitely missing Dooling right now.

Gotta disagree. The Celtics may be missing a couple things right now (like team chemistry) but I don't think Pietrus is one of them.

I really liked what Pietrus brought to this team, but it's still too early to call for help. Let them play and please, start Barbosa alongside Rondo. He's a short, yet strong 2-guard, close to what Bradley brings, a little less D, but a great shooter.

Let Terry/Lee go against lesser players to build their confidence while they're getting it.

Terry's problem yesterday had nothing to do with running the offense, in fact, he played either alongside Rondo or Barbosa the whole game. So it's meaningless to extrapolate from those minutes that we need another PG... and don't know why your brought up Dooling, he sucked as a PG. In fact, if Dooling was playing with Terry, it would be Terry doing most of the ballhandling.

Dooling would only help with size.

Yeah gotta be this. Comparing Pietrus to Terry is pretty absurd to me. Terry is miles and miles better than Pietrus. I mean, its not even close really.

not comparing Pietrus to Terry. I want Terry to play his natural two guard role setting up to shoot threes instead of running the offense, and I want to have Pietrus to match up against strong wing players like LeBron and Wade.

as for Dooling, he struggled early in the year but by playoff time actually found a nice little niche for himself. I mean Danny did bring him back.

I liked both Pietrus and Dooling, but they are gone and not coming back.

We upgraded. Lee is a better overall player than Pietrus, as is Terry over Dooling. Green is going to have to learn how to defend LeBron. It's that simple. He doesn't have to shut him down, he needs to contain him.

Pietrus ...the only one who can play anti-Lebron

Green just isn't super human enough to stick with Lebron. Lebron is too quick, or Green is too slow. Take your pick, but re-enforcements needed. Maybe Pietrus is the guy at this late point.

I don't mind giving Joseph a shot against Lebron, but Pietrus is almost definitely better, if only because he has more experience guarding lebron.

We have played 1 game.

Also, I think it is pointless to fixate on individual defensive matchups when our team defense was atrocious. Guys seemed clueless about rotations.
