I'm actually going to go around 40-45%. I'm actually fairly surprised that Gasol is still a Laker. He has in no way played the way he is capable of playing these past two playoffs. He just looked apathetic and lifeless in the OKC series and god awful in the Dallas series in 2011. Maybe playing with a great PG who can set him up with some nice pick and pops will help Paus game but even if that is the case, you gotta believe LA will explore all options when it comes to trading him, and they will have plenty considering Pau is still capable of playing not just good but great and he will be a huge expiring contract after this season.

I'd say they are pretty good because I am not convinced LA can get value for Pau Gasol in the trade market given his age, salary and recent performances in the playoffs.

Someone like an Andre Iguodala or a Josh Smith looked like their best opportunities but both of those guys appear to be off the market now. Iggy being traded and Atlanta entering a rebuilding period and hence uninterested in someone like Pau Gasol. Not sure what else LA could expect to get for Pau.

I can't see Indy parting with Granger with David West and Roy Hibbert under contract there. Memphis have Z-Bo and M.Gasol so they wouldn't sacrifice Rudy Gay. I don't see Utah being interested in Pau. He'd just get in the way of their younger bigs like Millsap and Big Al currently are. Minnesota would be dumb to give up Kevin Love for someone as old as Pau Gasol. Maybe Luol Deng in a trade with Chicago. Although all (win-now / short term) moves there might be on hold until Derrick Rose returns and shows their owner that Chicago is still a title-contender.

What other forwards are out there that could possibly be worth giving up Pau Gasol for?

Maybe Amare Stoudemire if New York's frontcourt trio continues to stutter. New York thinking Pau's superior post game, passing and ability to work as a second option to a high scoring wing would fit them better than an ill-performing Amare Stoudemire. LA thinking Nash brings Amare back to his best.

they can still get a decent young prospect with Pau. There might be teams out there that might need veteran leadership and would trade a young player for Pau

One of the few Lakers EVER I could accept being a Celtic.  I always felt they under appreciated him from the start , both the players and fans alike. Maybe Pau loves the Lakers I don't know .. ::)

The Lakers will get CP3 in a 1 or 2 when NAsh leaves .  And who ever else they need to keep hanging banners.

this would probably be their best bet.  A Chandler/Pau frontcourt for NY would be pretty solid as would a LA frontcourt of Amare/Dwight.  Better fits for both teams I think.

I think he finishes the season in LA though.  spending that much time with Kobe will suck the life and energy out of anyone.

I think they could get very good value for him...but not equal value.  Gasol is still a top 5 big man in the league, and should benefit from the Princeton offense (if they stick with it).

He will be a Laker at the end of the season. Trading him doesnt make any sense right now.

Although if I were Mike Brown I would consider starting Jamison at the 4 and brining Gasol of the bench. Jamsion seems to fit in better with a lineup of Nash,Kobe,Artest,Jamsion,Howard. Much more overall team speed which they will need playing OKC and Miami.

Gasol would be efficient backing up Howard similar to Gortat but with a much more polished offensive game.

I dont see Gasol going anywhere. If Howard is healthy, the duo downlow of Howard and Gasol is pretty deadly. I dont see how they could upgrade that duo by trading Gasol away.

If they decide they have to move him, it likely will be because of money.

The following deal could work (once the restrictions end Oct 10th)

LA send Gasol, Duhon, and Clark

Toronto sends Bargnani, Calderon (last year at 10 million) and Klieza

It will trim close to 9 million next season.  Bargnani can play the way outside game creating space for Howard and Kobe.  (the Ryan Anderson effect)

Toronto becomes a possible playoff team with Gasol and Lowry leading the way.

I think Deng for Gasol is genius, you're the first person I've heard suggest it.  Gasol/Boozer/Noah is a lethal rotation.  Two elite defenders, two elite scorers, two guys with automatic 18 footers to open up for Rose, and three pretty much elite rebounders.

I can also imagine that Taj Gibson's trade value is pretty high so that gives them an option to replace Deng.

The Dwight/Amare combo with Nash lobbing is just plain unreal but I don't think New York is at that point yet.
Philly:

Anderson Varejao    Tiago Splitter    Matt Bonner
David West    Kenyon Martin    Brad Miller
Andre Iguodala    Josh Childress    Marquis Daniels
Dwyane Wade    Leandro Barbosa
Kirk Hinrich    Toney Douglas   + the legendary Kevin McHale

I think Pierce & Bass for Gasol/Ebanks would harbor a lot of appeal to LA - add a pair of high-quality shooters to space the floor for the Nash or Kobe/Howard pick and roll and a more natural 3rd wheel to Kobe/Howard than Pau.  Boston bumps their $9 mil per investment in Green into the starting line-up and gets Doc his long-coveted volume post-up option, plus a younger star counterpart than Pierce to go with Rondo (Pau is still, what, 32?).

I've always thought KG & Pau would be a beautiful big man pairing.
