As we all know the Celtics are super deep this year and Doc has a lot of different line ups he can throw at people to counter their strength or give us an advantage...
Here is what I think we should have on the field against the the top contenders strongest line ups in money time, let me know what you think:

(Putting emphasis on Defense, but keeping a good enough offensive team...)

Vs Heat:

Wade - Bradley
Allen - Rondo
Battie - Pierce
Lebron - Green
Bosh - Garnett

Vs Lakers:

Nash - Rondo
Kobe - Pierce
Metta - Green
Gasol - KG
Howard - Darko (or Collins)

Vs Nets:

Deron - Rondo
Jhonson - Pierce
Wallace - Green
Humpries - Bass
Lopez - Garnett

Vs Knicks:

Kidd - Rondo
JR Smith - Bradley (Lee)
Carmelo - Pierce (Green)
Amare - Bass
Chandler - KG

Vs Thunder:

Westbrook - Bradley
Harden - Rondo
Durant - Pierce (Green)
Ibaka - Garnett
Perk - Bass (Darko)

Vs Philly:

Holiday - Rondo
Richardson (Nick Young) - Bradley (Lee)
Turner - Pierce
Hawes - Garnett
Bynum - Collins (Darko)

Vs Spurs:

Parker - Rondo
Ginobili - Bradley
Leonard - Pierce (Green)
Duncan - Garnett
Diaw (Splitter) - Bass (Darko)

Comment 1:
Not a lot of match up opportunities for Terry and Sullinger!!

Comment 2:
Green will be highly valuable against Heat, Lakers and Nets!!

What do you guys think..??

Playing Pierce and Green together is dangerous prospect if you don't have a reliable 3rd string Small Forward. Peaches where are you?

However, I love that match-up on two occasions. First is the Brooklyn Nets. Their shooting guard is none other than Joe Johnson 2nd highest paid player in the NBA. JJ a small forward by nature, but made a fortune abusing smaller shooting guard. Put Pierce or Green on him problem solved.

Second team is the Los Angles Lakers. Pierce/Green combo puts Lakers in a bind. Who will Nash defend? You see Kobe Bryant can't lax on defense guarding non-shooter like Rajon Rondo. He will be forced to actually defend his real position Leaving Nash on Rondo. I'm drooling as I type. Losing Ray in retrospect is a net positive in Lakers/Celtics finals.

The Darko signing is looking more and more important...he should definitely see some PT vs some of these teams.

Don't forget to add Wilcox in there, too....as much as I like Darko, Wilcox should still be the 1st Big off the bench.

I understand what you mean with Wilcox should be 1st off the bench... I do think the same way with Jason terry as well on our guard rotation...
However, the purpose of this post was to show that for matching up against those top teams, players like JET and Wilcox might not be as important as Green and Darko...

DArko and Collins are going to play much the same part as Perkins.

The tuff enforcers protecting the paint while KG rests.  There job will be to rebound and be punishers around the rim ...no easy buckets in the paint.

Eventually the BEST Celtics lineup will have BRADLEY in it... he IS OUR ENERGY on DEFENSE and a heading towards being a reliable scorer in the NBA.

When AB is on the court .... GOOD THINGS HAPPEN.!!!

Can't wait to see AB , Rondo , Green , Wilcox amd Sully on the break. ;D

One thing I am excited about, and haven't really seen much of, is Green paired with KG (instead of Glen Davis).

I expect to see this unit a lot:

Rondo
Terry
Pierce
Green
Garnett

Against the big teams like PHI and LAL, I would expect to see:

Rondo
Pierce
Green
Garnett
Sullinger (assuming that we will beat out Bass, Darko, Wilcox by the end of the year)

I love the C's depth this year. There are plenty of effective combos.

Yeah I like Bradley as well! Problem is when we will be facing the Lakers and Nets who play Big SGs that post up (Kobe and Joe Johnson) then It's a choice between Rondo OR Bradley... Chances are we will roll with Rondo (as he is our leader)...
So I'm not anticipating a lot of Bradley against LA and Nets...

Here again I would love to see Sully get some valuable playing time but reality is he is generally considered undersized for the PF position so he would be at an even bigger disadvantage against beasts like Howard, Hibbert and Bynum when we play LA, Indy or Philly...

Good Point - especially vs LA.

Darko-KG-Collins vs DH and Pau is a lineup I can live with..either way.

Darko-Pau or KG-Pau...KG-Pau or KG/Collins-DH..either way I feel comfortable with that.

Darko-Collins will also help us with NY, PHI and Brooklyn, too.

We now have a LOT of length to throw at these teams..a lot of depth.

And as you stated - I think Green will help us out tremendously vs MIA...Paul won't have to deal with LeBron on his own.

For Teams that run like Miami would like to see Wilcox get minutes to make their bigs run.

Wilcox is key against young athletic teams. Add Green at PF and you have an awsome "small" unit.

Darko (Collins) and KG should be a real problem for some teams without real size. If Collins was brought in for Bynum and Howard, Darko was brought in for Miami and the Thunder to make them pay for going small. In a league where there are few true centers you can go with the follow or you can double down. Like the logic; but was only possible because we were able to get quicker at the same time by bringing in Lee and bringing back Green and Wilcox.

Yep! I love our versatility!
Can pretty much counter any type of line ups thrown at us!
Only things are:
If Pierce and Green are line ups together (Like against LA, MIA and NETS) then we will have to play Lee and/or Christmas from the bench at the 3 a little...

Can't wait for first look at training camp!

Yeah, Darko might be the guy to go against Howard/Bynum. I'm hoping Sullinger has enough to make an impact though. It'll be fun watching him evolve this season.
