He has a much much better chance of retiring a celtic than making the hall of fame.
He is not hall material, like his game but he's not that level.
sidney moncrief isn't in, dj took quite some time to make it etc etc

You're probably right but idc. As long as he helps us win another championship.

and ur comparison to harden validates my claim....he was a role player on that team.  with okc, harden played a role, but the team lives and dies with durant and westbrook.

Harden should have been starting over Sefolosha, but they found him more valuable off the bench, much like Manu Ginobili. You can't just label any bench player as a role player. Harden made plenty of clutch shots, including that dagger three in the WCF. He was much more than a role player and I think most here would agree with me.

Terry is on pace to score 20,000+ points in his career, which will put him top 40 all time. The only active players with 20,000+ points are...

Kobe Bryant
Kevin Garnett
Dirk Nowitzki
Ray Allen
Tim Duncan
Paul Pierce
Vince Carter

ALL of whom are hall-of-famers. That, plus his 3-pointers, plus 16 NBA seasons, puts him in the conversation. I'm not saying he's a definite, but it wouldn't be outrageous. There are players who miss out on all-star games simply because they played on teams where they weren't the first option, but they are still hall-of-fame caliber players. K.C. Jones comes to mind.

harden stepped up, but that doesnt mean he isnt a role player (a very good one).  same goes for terry.  he is a very good role player.....he is not an all star (and has never been one his entire career) and he has no business being in the HOF

serious question, has there ever been an nba player inducted to the hof that has never made a single all star game (i have no idea, which is why i ask)

... K.C. Jones ...

so terry just need 7 more titles if he hopes to get in  ;)

Going by your logic, Robert Horry should be in the Hall of Fame.  He made the Rookie 2nd team, and won 7 championships.  Personally, I wouldn't put him in.  Horry is great for memories and DVDs detailing clutch shots, but he's not a Hall of Fame player.

Which brings me to this question:  in your opinion, who deserves to be in the Hall of Fame more: Jason Terry or Robert Horry?

i was being facetious bc jones had 8 titles.

neither horry or terry are worthy imo

Just seeing that Jason Terry embraced his new team so much that he goes out and gets a new Celtic Leprachaun tattoo makes him one of my favorites already.
The Four Celtic Generals:
Russell - Cowens - Bird - Garnett

The Four Celtic Lieutenants:
Cousy - Havlicek - McHale - Pierce

I cannot believe anyone can argue with a straight face that Jason Terry should be in the HOF.  It is perhaps the most ridiculous thing I have ever read on this board.

The question i think about more often is whether or not Jason Terry is a Hall of Famer. He has more points, rebounds, and assists than Joe Dumars with about the same amount of Games Played.

Obviously Joe Dumars is a much better defensive player and was only considered a team's top offensive option for a few seasons in the middle of his career. Then again Jason Terry could never have been considered a team's first option and he has also be praised over his career as one of the league's greatest 6th Men.

jason terry in the HOF?!?!?!

6th man of the year, and 2nd team all rookie....those are his only achievments.  he was a role player on one championship team. comparing him to dumars is laughable based on their nba resumes

I didn't compare him to Dumars, I just said he has more total stats than a guy that's in the HOF. Obviously Dumars is a MUCH better player but to say Terry's only accomplishments are 2nd team all-rookie and a 6th man award just shows how little you know. Terry has elected to spend his career coming off the bench instead of forcing himself to a lesser team just to be a starter.

so what else should be added to his nba resume....a team guy and an honorable guy...sure, i agree.  but those dont get u in the hall.  2nd team all rookie and one 6th man award doesnt cut it
