Greg Anthony's quote from the summer league games. I like him so far, but he does need to finish stronger.

I was going to say the same thing in another thread.  He had some really nice drives, but his finishes were really erratic.

The reality is he is a late 2nd round pick and most guys drafted that low ussually dont make the team.

That being said I think he makes the team, not only that but might be a steal at where we drafted him.

Enjoyed watching him during summer league. That said, it was summer league. Too be fair, he was hurt a little and I think he was unable to show his full athletic skills after the first few games.

It's really simple for KJ, it is his roster spot to lose. We have a couple guys in that position with Christmas and him playing for the spots. If they play well enough in camp, they stick with the Celtics or enhance their value enough to make another team.

After the summer league performance and preview, I think both of these guys start the season in Green. Neither is a long term guy though. Just roster filler, emergency or practice bodies.

This is not a usual draft. I've heard people say he could have been a (late) 1st round pick in other drafts.

He led Cuse in scoring over Dion Waiters.

I like his shot selection. He takes very organic shots, like Pierce does. The problem pointed out in the thread can  be worked on by getting more upper body strength, which is likely as he will now be playing basketball for a living.

Exactly thats why I had the 2nd line in my post.

I was trying to say to the original poster that he could surprise...in a good way.  Like you said that could be fixed.

I was just thinking that he's a lock to make the team because Danny drafted him.

Trying to think of a 2nd round pick that Danny didn't sign... Anyone?

It's a no-lose proposition for him:  If the player turns out to be the next Arenas or Redd, he's a genius.

If he sits on the bench and is just a practice body, it's the cheapest contract in the league.

If he turns out to be a decent role player and some other GM likes him, he can be trade fodder like Gomes and Justin Weed.

Or, as he has done most often, he can waive the guy after one season like Oriene Green, midseason like Lester Hudson and Harangody, or after two like Gabe Pruitt without much lost.  In the meanwhile, maybe the connection to the C's helps sell tickets while they're in Maine.

Joseph gets signed.

He ought to get signed. I see his upside as Marquis Daniels in a few years.
