hope he gets invited to a camp or something he deserves it

Too bad he deserves a real chance. Maybe a year or two in Europe would not be the worst thing for him; but rather have him than Dooling. Too bad we couldn't include Dooling in the Lee sign and trade and keep Moore.

I think Dooling is here more to keep Rondo's head on straight at this point. I heard he's the vet with the most influence over Rondo.

Yeah, I think they do value the depth and versatility he brings (he was very important in the playoffs), but yes, he was signed for his leadership.

He is a PG/SG version of Scal.  Can really step in if there is an emergency, and not blow everything up...but his real value is in the lockerroom.

I would much much much times a million rather have dooling than Moore. Dooling is better, works harder, is a more experienced veteran, an amazing locker room guy and a very steady presence for rondo to have. Dooling showed that he could hit shots and play tough defense in the playoffs when it counted. Why waste a roster spot on a guy like Moore who won't help us and won't see the court instead of basically another player coach in dooling

Is there anything, in theory, preventing Boston from claiming him off waivers?

Yes. The rules.

We couldn't sign Moore til next summer.

Moore is good enough to be on an NBA roster.  If not, he can make a decent living in Europe.  That might be a better option for him if he really wants to learn how to be a PG.
