I think that Dwight is open to anyone who can convience him to sign an extension now that the Nets are out of the equation.

A nice sit down dinner with Danny, Doc, KG, and Bill Russell should put things into perspective.  ;)
I doubt they want Howard in Boston. He doesn't fit with the culture of this organization at all.
Signed to a 6 year $0 contract with the Celtics Blog forum!

Same state? Never gonna happen unless Orlando is getting Wade & Bosh for Howard & 2 1st! Example the Knicks will never make a trade that allows the Brooklyn Nets to possibly win 4-5 titles & have to read or hear about it everyday in the paper or their local programming.

Agree with this. Miami has NO draft choices that would interest Magic.

Would take both Wade and Bosh to get Howard and perhps Nelson.

Magic get real value for Howard. cHeat have 2 26 year old franchise players in LeBroid and Howard.

Orlando is going to want an all star, promising young players, picks, and cap relief for D Ho.  Miami can easily offer this to them.  Miami gets Howard and is stuck with Turkoglu for the next two years.  They give up Bosh, Joel Anthony, Norris Cole, Mike Miller, who would probably retire, and two #1 picks.

Miami would basically ensure them the Finals for the next half decade, at a minimum.  Orlando would get an all star in Bosh, who they could use or move for more assets and cap relief, two solid players, and picks.  It would be a better package than Houston's offer.  Bynum won't sign an extension there, apparently, so LA isn't an option unless Houston facilitates the deal and Bynum agrees to play there.

This would be a total gangster move by Pat Riley.  Dwight Howard patrolling the paint at both ends, surrounded by LeBron, Wade, Battier and Ray Allen, would be a ridiculous team to defeat.
any deal with Miami for Howard STARTS with Bosh AND Wade and some extra pieces or an even swap for Lebron.

anything less, Orlando would be an idiot to just take Bosh or Wade.

Even if Howard totally switched course and said he'd love to play here... and even if Orlando decided to just say yes to any offer... we're still bound by the CBA.  Would could we possibly offer that would work under the salary cap?  It would have to start with Pierce, or at least two of Rondo, KG, and Green... and for KG and Green, they'd need to agree to a sign-and-trade.

Take into account that there's no way Orlando is trading Howard without getting rid of at least one bad contract, and it gets much worse.

About the only thing you could do would be Rondo, Green, and Johnson for Howard and Jason Richardson.  I certainly wouldn't make that trade if I were the Celtics, and yet I doubt Orlando would make it either.

Bottom line is the Celtics don't have the assets Orlando is looking for.  Oh, and DH12 doesn't want to play here.

  • Ashy To Classy, baby.
If it ain't broke don't fix it

Exactamundo. Albeit, this would push them into a team capable of taking the 92 Bulls' record.
My pic is now, and will be Fab Melo until he posts his first official NBA dbl-dbl. This may be permanent.

If I was Riley, I'd do Wade/Bosh for Howard + Redick + Turk.

Chalmers, Allen, Lebron, Battier, Howard

with JJ, Turk, and whatever big men they keep wins a championship. Let's not kid ourselves, Wade and Bosh were both injured and Lebron got them the ring.
