I hope Pierce takes this kid under his wing and teaches him some tricks. He's ready to work, learn and pick his brain you gotta love it. ;D

Quote
ORLANDO — Kris Joseph grew up in Montreal with a unique blueprint for becoming a basketball player.

“When I was in Montreal YouTube first started, and you could type in Paul Pierce [stats] highlights, and they would all come up,” the Celtics [team stats] rookie said yesterday, after the C’s summer league team lost to Detroit, 93-79.

“I was amazed at how he was able to get his shot off, and how consistent he’s been over his career. That’s because he’s put in a lot of hard work. He has great footwork and he keeps working at it.”

And the Celtics captain’s game seems to fit Joseph snugly. The 6-foot-7 small forward has quite possibly been the most consistent C’s player over the first four games of the Orlando Summer League. He had a 17-point, 11-rebound double-double yesterday, and overall has averaged 11.7 points and 6.7 rebounds per game.

And he can’t wait to meet the man who has set his standard.

“I’m really looking forward to it,” he said. “I’d love to pick his brain, because he’s someone I’ve idolized since growing up, and we play the same position. I didn’t give myself that comparison’ people gave me that because I was a younger kid. To be able to be on the same team, I’m definitely going to be observing and listening to this guy.

“We’re not the most athletic guys, he and I,” he said. “We’re not LeBron James athletic. But we get to our spots, get to the basket, get to the free throw line, and that’s big at any level. That’s what you want — you get points and you get guys in foul trouble. We’re both very similar like that. We both come off of ball screens, coming off of pin-downs and creating plays for yourself and others. He demands a lot of attention and that opens the game up for others.”
