The pundits and "basketball experts" (Laker fans, Westbrook fans and Heat fans from the looks of it) keep talking about Rondo after the big three leaves...
How about Doc now that the big three is splitting and the remaining are aging?
This year we have arguably the best mix of young and old in the league, second to the Spurs in my opinion.
Young players with promise, energy but imperfections (and certainly in need of development) and some of the greatest players in the history of the league.
Rondo also finally has a legit backup ballhandler in Jason Terry
Injuries will still be there. But certainly not to the degree of last season.
No more excuses for not playing the main guys less now and it certainly will be interesting to see Doc's lineup management that has been so critiqued (by me a little and by others as well) and defended.
Sure, he can still count on the starters to grind. Rondo can clock in 40 a night.
But with the aging core, and one of the more reliable and younger support cast since 08, his coaching, especially time management, will be more under trial than ever. And rightfully so as it is paramount to our success.
