The deal did get voided the moment he failed his physical. That is standard under NBA rules. The favor we did for him was renouncing his Bird rights so he would be free to do what he wanted once cleared to play. Had we held them it would have really handcuffed what he and his agent (David Falk, who happens to be Sullinger's agent, I'm not sayin', I'm just sayin') could do this off season. It was simply the gentlemanly thing to do.
