  • Rondo doesn't believe in easy buckets...
Ross is one of my favorite prospects in the draft. He would be such a perfect fit with Rondo. He can run the break as a finisher or trailing shooter, or he can spread the floor with his shooting in the half court. I also think his dribble drive ability will improve in the NBA without guys sitting in the paint.

If we move up whichever of these players are still available Barnes, Ross, Rivers, Sullinger we would be happy to pick.  I seriously doubt if any of these guys fall to our "moving up" range  which I would put 14-18.

I'm right there with ya.  I'd be extremely happy if Ainge could somehow land Ross in this draft.

Perfect fit for Rondo as you state, & fields another position need if and when Ray is done.  Home Run pick.

I don't worry about the dribble drive issue scouts are warning everyone about.  This isn't a one man band.  He doesn't have to come right in and be Ralph Tresvant.  He can be Ron Devoe, & let Tresvant, Johnny Gill, Bobby Brown, & Ricky Bell do the work for him. It's a team effort.

The dribble drive thing goes out the window on this team. Rondo changes all of that with his QB abilities at the point.  When Ross is playing with the likes of Rondo, Pierce, & KG, when will he have time to dribble drive ?  Those others will dominate the ball and Ross just has to play D, run the court & fast break, get open when others are doubled, and knock down open shots created by the all stars on the team.

I think the Celtics have interest in both those guys but I don't see how they could get high enough up to draft one of them, without including Bradley or Rondo. If we trade either of those I'll be very upset so I hope we stay put.

We get high enough to draft Barnes and/or Ross by trading with Portland who has pick #6 and #11 and yes, it probably would need to include Rondo.  I can't say how likely that would be but there seem to be signals that this is something at least being considered.

I know most are going be outraged that trading Rondo is even being considered but I actually could see it.  It would all depend on who else is involved but if you start with Rondo and those two picks, I think you can make a workable trade out of it.

I could see a team next year as follows being pretty good (and with picks #6 and #11 having some young talent for the future):

Bradley
Pierce
Green
Garnett
Perk (picked up on waivers after being amnestied)

with Pietrus, Bass, Sean Williams, JJJ, Moore, Barnes, Ross, Krstic, Steisma, Hollins, etc.

The Celtics have been a good team in the past without Rondo and they could be a good team in the future without Rondo.

i would be surprised i danny was seriously interested in those two. i really dont think he is.

i think he's really interested in:

1. MKG
2. Drummond
3. Sullinger
4. Terrence Jones

i would be surprised if danny packaged the picks (or even other guys) and didnt grab one of these players... thats not to say MKG and Drummond becoming celtics this year is a realistic expectation.

i just think danny's intrigued by those two tremendously, but we have a higher chance of getting sully or T. Jones.

they're just the type of guys danny goes for in the draft.

i would be in shock - COMPLETE AND TOTAL SHOCK - if danny grabbed ross or barnes if any of the guys ive listed above was still on the board. thats totally not his style.
