Do we want to overpay for a guy that's injured all the time?

I like his game, but he seems to be on the bench in a suit a fair bit.

how much wood would a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck was chris bosh?

Can we? Yes Should we? I say no. He is going to want the max and he isn't really a top notch max player. I would rather just save our cap space for another summer.

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
His injury history is a little concerning- it's not as bad as people make it out to be but there's still history there.

He is young, he can shoot and he can get to the hole.

Interesting to think how many wide open looks he'd get with a point guard like Rondo dishing him the ball.

Then again I'm biased because I went to Indiana where he was the man  8)

If he wasn't a max guy and more like an 80% second/third fiddle with Rondo to a real superstar then yeah I'd pull the trigger but he will command max money I guess.
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

If I recall, Ray was "injury prone" on this blog before we traded for him...not saying I want him, but just playing devil's advocate for the fact that just because he was injured last year doesn't mean he will be injured this year too. It's an interesting thought to consider, but I like Avery Bradley, wanna give him a chance, and keep our cap flexibility for better players.

I wouldn't mind having him as our SG playing with Rondo, but not at 15 mil+ a year. The last 3 years Gordon has played 62,56 and 9 games. That's not very good at all . I would take him around 10-12 mil per on a 4 years deal, but nothing over that.

Eric Gordon is a restricted FA, and he was the centerpiece to New Orleans in that Chris Paul deal. I can't see them letting their centerpiece walk away a year later.

Save our money for a game changing big. I dont like the idea of spending big money on SG/wing type players. Gordon can score no doubt averaging 21 a game in just 9 games this year. he put up 22 a game while shooting 45% from the field last year but only played 56 games averaged only 4 assists and 3 rebounds.

In April, Bradley averaged 15 points a game while shooting 52% from the field and 54% from the arc all while playing much much better defense. I know its a small sample of games, but if Bradley can repeat his production (i know he wont shoot that well all year) to what he was doing at the end of this year, then i give up that extra 6 points a game and i take Bradley at 1.6 and 2.5 million over the next two years rather than give gordon a max contract ANY day of the week.
