if nothing significant can be done on the market and no new big name can be added to the roster via a salary dump, then let him come back if:

1/ he signs a 1 year deal ( 5-7 mio)
2/ he agrees to come of the bench (unless Bradley is injured)

Believe DA like to have him and Ray wants to be back, but like Perk , I think money is going to kill the deal .   Got a feeling Ray is not going to like what he is going to be offered.

Maybe same for Bass.

ALthough , I think DA will pay alot more than folks are thinking to get Jeff Green to resign ( has faith in him to produce like he should, and to prove the Perk/Green deal was good one all along. I see alot of other forums where Green is being targeted .

For Ray  though...Like him back , but counting him gone.

I really think that for the most part Ray brought more negative then positive this season. Bad defense, stupid turnovers, injured legs. I appreciate everything Ray has done for Boston and he's had a great career here... but I don't want him back unless it's for CHEAP money on a one year deal.

totally agree

The Celtics need Ray Allen back because there is a chance Avery Bradley won't be ready at the start of the season, but the Celtics also need Ray Allen gone because Doc needs to be encouraged to play Bradley during crunch time.

I'd love Ray back if he could really buy into the microwave scorer off the bench mentality. Since I don't see this happening I bet we replace him with another guy who can come in off the bench and score.
DKC:  Rockets

The underlying problem with the big 3...is they don't WANT to come in off the bench....ever.....you saw that in the playoffs...Ray said he didn't like when Bradley started over him, even while hurt..PP would NEVER relinquish his starting role...even if his 4 for 19, no defense was hurting the team    ( i know i will hear it for speaking the truth, and yes, we did have others to put in for 5-10 minutes, sasha, md )....so this is why Ray will leave, and PP might want to also, and KG retire....then they will eventually come to the realization that that is what will happen to them anyway...Ray will be rotated in Miami or NY..and NOT be the permanent starter he wishes to be, same with pp, and kg...they are fighting the theory that they are getting older, and are slow to adjust...WELL, news flash, we all, and you all will do exactly the same thing when you are there.....and yes, I do know first hand, besides seeing it a million times.....
