So way that we get J Smoove if KG stays, so we'll see. Marvin would be a great pickup either way.

Can't we just bring Gerald Green back?

is it just me, but i'd rather have horford than josh smith (and i think KG would also)

The big problem with signing Josh this season is it forces KG to play as starting center.  He hasn't kept it a secret that he absolutely hates doing that.  He'd naturally rather play at the perimeter and just shoot pick and pops with Rondo.

You can not sign and trade players and trade draft picks.  It is impossible.  Quit proposing trades with free agents and draft picks.
2025 Historical Draft - Cleveland Cavaliers - 1st pick

Starters - Luka, JB, Lebron, Wemby, Shaq
Rotation - D. Daniels, Mitchell, G. Wallace, Melo, Noah
Deep Bench - Korver, Turner

Teams aren't allowed to sign and trade players or trade draft picks anymore? I must have missed that...

I don't understand this obsession with Josh Smith. Especially after just witnessing his putrid shot selection and free throw shooting in the last series.

Maybe on a 1 year rental he's worth the risk, but I would hope nothing substantial to our future is given up for him.

They run maybe the worst offense in the whole league.  Everyone takes bad shots on ATL.  Joe Johnson does too, he just is a better shooter so he happens to make them.  They do nothing but isolate.

In our offense he would excel.  Imagine him taking those open Bass shots and rolling to the rim.  You saw how good Rondo made Bass look... imagine Smith?

I love posts like this too, because they act as if that is all Josh Smith does.  Ignore his great defense and great rebounding that was killing us in all those games before he got hurt.  Just gloss right over that.

It is about timing, you can't sign and trade players until July 8th, over a full week after the draft.

We're distinctly in the minority here, but I agree with you.

I'm in the extreme minority in not being sold on Royce White as a future NBA starter either.

It's not that unusual for teams to make trades that aren't completed until a later date due to logistics such as those.

except you can't negotiate with free agents, thus if you did that sort of trade you would violate the terms of the collective bargaining agreement and would get hammered by the league.

Trades involving current draft picks and current free agents, are not possible so people need to stop proposing them.
