After game 2 there was a thread encouraging people to email the NBA about the officiating. I didn't save what I sent, but I think we all sent pretty similar messages. This is the email I received today:
"Dear J:

Thank you for contacting the National Basketball Association with your concerns regarding officiating. The NBA’s highest priority is to ensure that every game is determined on its merits.

We take seriously the performance of our officials. They are subjected to incredible scrutiny by the league, including tracking every call they make and holding them to the most rigorous standard in all of sports. Not only is their past performance measured, charted, and evaluated, but we employ a system of stringent metrics designed to continually hone their skills and improve their overall ability. We strive to ensure that NBA games are officiated at the highest possible level with the understanding that perfection is an unattainable goal.

Thank you again for your concern. We appreciate your feedback regarding this issue.

Sincerely,

NBA Fan Relations"

I just thought there might be some people who would want to see this because there were a lot of posts in that thread. If you don't like the complaining/don't care/don't think the officiating was unfair than feel free to ignore this thread. I'm not here to argue about it any more at this point.

Can't we just bring Gerald Green back?

Well,
You might as well start another email list.  Watching the first quarter of game 5 has me convinced I should have gone to the movies to see the Avengers!  The early calls on Rondo, the no calls on Lebron.  This one is going to Miami.  See you back in Boston.  Let's hope for some parity there.

I too got the same BS automated response. Mine was replied today at exactly 5 pm, when most people are on their way home.
By the way, in my email, I requested a personalized respnse or it was a sign of disrespect.
Also, I tried replying to their email, however their email address does not accept replies!

I actually think it makes a ton of sense.  As fans, we give a lot more credence to the "big" calls, but if the league only looks at metrics, then it would go a long way to explain why their "best" refs are often the ones who seem like the worst.  Because the metrics that the league looks at have nothing to do with the memorable calls, it is all about volume of correct versus incorrect.

I still think pressuring them can cause the refs to ease up.  We have gotten fairer calls the last three games.  Still on all on the level with some blatant mess ups but improved and not as one sided as five techs or letting our guys get hit on the face whist they shoot.
