Uh Bass is like a 96% shooter in the playoffs , how can you not have him in there ?  ??? ??? ??? ??? ???

Rondo only made one of two, could have cost us the game .

I don't give Doc a lot of grief, but I was thinking that very thing. Why is Bass not out there?

Whatever his reason, it paid off and we got the win.

Because if the C's turned it over or he missed the second free throw (if he was the one who got fouled) the Heat could have forced him to be on the court defensively.

Rondo was going to be on the court in that situation, none of the other players on the court was a bad free throw shooter. So the gain isn't that big compared to the risk of him being on the court defensively I outlined in my last post.

Not buying that. Bass did a decent job defensively here. Not suggesting he should be out there for Rondo, but you don't leave a 95 percent foul shooter on the bench in that situation.

The free throws Bass has been making and the free throws at the end of the game are different beasts.
Grab a few boards, keep the TO's under 14, close out on shooters and we'll win.

And Rondo is better at freethrows in the 4th quarter?

When out there on Battier or another shooter he absolutely is a liability on defense.

He did decently tonight but that doesn't mean Doc should ignore how he's played against the small Miami line ups overall. (given up a lot of fouls and 3s)

Yeah I was puzzled with the same question. But what a great inbounds play to get the ball back to rondo and run out some clock. too bad he missed 1 of 2 but it all worked out in the end.

There were 23 seconds left. Rondo got the ball and they fouled him right away. If Bass got the ball right away they'd have defended the play. I don't think that I'd try and throw the inbounds pass to Bass, and if he had the ball with 20 seconds left I wouldn't trust Bass to not turn the ball over.

With game 2 and all that has changed in the rearview mirror; you give the ball to Rondo there, percentages or not.
