i'v emailed the nba a few different times about the officiating...they send the same response below each time...any joe shmo can hire an internet company to set up an auto-responder...bottom line...the nba does not care...anyone who believes that money is not a driving force behind the officiating/favoritism/superstar treatment/etc...it doesn't matter what you call it...is very naive...

Thank you for contacting the National Basketball Association with your concerns regarding officiating. The NBA’s highest priority is to ensure that every game is determined on its merits.

We take seriously the performance of our officials. They are subjected to incredible scrutiny by the league, including tracking every call they make and holding them to the most rigorous standard in all of sports. Not only is their past performance measured, charted, and evaluated, but we employ a system of stringent metrics designed to continually hone their skills and improve their overall ability. We strive to ensure that NBA games are officiated at the highest possible level with the understanding that perfection is an unattainable goal.

Thank you again for your concern. We appreciate your feedback regarding this issue.

Sincerely,

NBA Fan Relations

I gave you a Tommy Point for trying. Emailing the NBA is worse than writing your elected official. They have the same canned response for everything.

NBA officiating is just like American Politics. They both fail the average guy and favor the elite. You gotta live with it.

Tim Donaghy and Oliver North are both heroes in my book. The Ball Don't Lie.

Maybe it's because they get basically the same angry email from every team's fans all the time.  Next time we beat Miami they'll have a torrent of emails from Heat fans decrying the blatantly pro-Boston officiating.  So it goes.

It is the same letter every time, BTW.

But there is no way this stuff is true.   If they graded some of these guys they would get "F's".   One would think that enough bad calls would get these guys fired but it is never the case.   Even when they get personal there is really no penalty.   They are lap dogs at the beck and call of the league.
