I Actually was hoping the Lakers to win this game (only this game, lose in 6 at home) For the only reason that the longer the NBA has to wait to start the WCF the less chance the ECF has to play catch up and possibly have a back to back. Granted I haven't checked and maybe the schedule is set in stone already because of TV but a potential back to back in the Eastern Conference Finals wouldn't favor us (assuming we get there).

That being said I feel very unclean about hoping for a Lakers win, time to purify myself with oils gleamed from the sweat of Bird and Russell

There won't be any back-to-back games in the ECF.  The NBA wants to televise a game everyday for exposure.
The schedules are already out with two scenarios:

Playing every other day in the Conference Finals will only hurt the Celtics if they have to keep playing Pierce and Garnett 36+ minutes per game.  KG has had his minutes cut the last few games but the captain is still playing a few too many.  I guess Doc doesn't have much of a choice though.

Pierce is playing more minutes but he isnt being incredibly active or having to carry the team during those minutes.

For example last night he only took 7 shots, and was invinisible for most of the game.

Bass and Rondo carried the team.

Our old guys just played solid D and watched.

Can't the Lakers:

1. Revisit the Gasol to Houston scenario that was killed earlier this season?
2. Explore a Bynum-for-Dwight Howard trade?
3. Use the amnesty provision on Ron Artest for financial relief?
4. Judiciously use an $8.9 million trade exception to address roster depth?
5. Continue to leverage a lucrative TV contract, brand recognition, and a Hollywood lifestyle/culture to attract free agents?

I agree with Who. To quote the Bard, "one or two little moves," and they are right back in this.

Heard on many occasions Howard wants no part of the Lakers. Doesn't want to follow in the footsteps of Shaq.

Only reason he opted-in was to avoid the Lakers.

Lakers Trade: Gasol, Sessions*, Blake
Lakers Get: Lowry, Scola, Gomes, Bledsoe

Clippers Trade: Mo Williams*, Gomes, Bledsoe
Clippers Get: Kevin Martin, Steve Blake, Houston 1st

Rockets Trade: Kyle Lowry, Luis Scola, Kevin Martin, 2013 1st
Rockets Receive: Pau Gasol, Mo Williams, Ramon Sessions

Lakers Look Like:
PG: Kyle Lowry/Eric Bledsoe
SG: Kobe Bryant/Whocares
SF: MWP/Gomes
PF: Scola/Whocares
C: Bynum/Whocares

Clippers:
Paul/Blake
Martin/Blake
Butler
Blah b
blahhh

Rockets:
Dragic/Sessions
Lee/Mo Williams
Parsons/Budinger
Gasol/Patterson
Dalembert/Whocares

Cap-wise I think it would work, and its just an example.

Why would the Rockets want the Clippers in this deal? Without Kevin Martin they have no wing scoring.

Mitch Kupchak does not deserve any blame here.  He tried to retool his team with the CP3 trade, and the frickin league vetoed it.

Once that happened, Pau Gasol was checked out mentally.  The team was broken, and on top of that their coach had zero respect from their best player.

Honestly?  If I am Mitch Kupchak, I see if there are any takers for Kobe.
Gasol didn't check out mentally, he was forced to play 18 feet from the hoop and space the floor for corner threes.

Just not his game.

Agreed. The triangle was perfect for Gasol. So perfect that he seamlessly fit in. The offense Brown runs is bad for twin towers like Gasol and Bynum. You need a stretch four in that system.

Its alright, young blood. I was just using Mo Williams' documented versatility as a combo guard paired with Goran Dragic as a pretty tenacious backcourt.

I'm at work listening to L.A. radio today.  First, Cowherd (national show) says that the Celtics are not winning the championship.

Then the local radio guys were talking about the Lakers.  Max Kellerman and Marcellus Wiley have a 4 hour show. Kellerman was busy coming up with dream scenarios of how the Lakers can become contenders again and laughed at Wiley when Wiley mentioned the title contenders that remained.  Max K. essentially said, while laughing -do you really think the Celtics can win the championship this year?' -The Celtics are not winning the championship this year.....

I realize the Celtics are at best the 3rd best team remaining in the playoffs, but I find it odd that they can dismiss a former champion with such ease.
We all think we know more than we really do....

There once was a seven-foot Laker
Who found true love with his paint neighbor
But, oh, what bad luck
Their romance soon was stuck
When they learned each was strictly a taker

When's the single hitting the streets?  ;D Ha ha, man, that was great. TP.

There once was a poster named fairweather
Whose limericks hit hard as mayweather,
When tasked with a caption,
It was smart like inception,
and few things rhyme with the word weather.

Mmmm not really when considering they got swept in the 2nd round with phil jackson and a bettter roster last season

When half your team does not show up or play hard they have shut out the coach folks.  Bynum has been quoted as he doesn't care where he plays not a ringing endorsement of Brown.  When one player does not show up it is on the player.   When 3-4 don't it is the coach.  I was happy when they hired Brown.   I hate the Lakers.

And of course Kobe, being the defiant one, thinks the Lakers as presently constituted will be back next year.

I laughed a bit, too, man.
