In the event those guys ever read this stuff, I just want to let RAY know how WE feel about RAY as a player. He is a TRUE PRO athelete. His conditioning, attitude, and adjustments to the given situation have ALWAYS been leadership quality. Some by action alone, some by words. So, this may be corny, but it is how I see it..! As i have said before, i think it is a great move, pressuring the other teams to now have to deal with Ray against the 2nd unit of the other team...giving them no rest ever...!!! Get ' em RAY...!!!

TP, Meadowlark!

Kudos to Ray for this move, and congrats to AB for his hard work and getting to this point.

There is no doubt in my mind that part of our little push here the last few weeks is due to AB's improvement.

Yet another reason why I hope BOS brings Ray back next season.

I disagree on some fronts. Ray is a, what, 16 year veteran or something? He just got transferred to the bench because he became stale and took only 2-3 shots a game. It took Doc to put him on the bench and then tell his team to only give the ball to Ray and never shoot to make him actually get points.

Even such, he can't hit a mid range jumper, he keeps trying to hit some semi-leaners from around anywhere except three point line. Never hits it. Also he's just shooting instead of driving more. Last night he could drive to the hoop at least 5 times and he took the jumper. Why?

The only reason he scored 19 was because Doc forbid people to shoot and drew up plays for Ray only.

BUT! And it's a big but: I want to see Ray shooting the buzzer-beaters instead of Pierce. Paul's pretty awful with those, getting worse.

Huh? Ray SHOULD get the most shots with the 2nd unit. He's clearly the best offensive player on. The bench.

There's too many offensive weapons on the starting lineup for him. To get thetouches thaf he needs

And at the same time it puts three guys in their 20s in the starting lineup

So, you would certainly tell, as a coach, likes of AB, Sasha and Steamer to shoot and not draw plays for undoubtedly the best shooter in your team?
This isn't early 2000s. You won't often see Ray sweeping to the basket and it's quite natural. He kept his game intact through all that evolution, which alone is a great accomplishment for a professional athlete.

Finally, Paul is probably second or third when you consider clutch performance (Kobe is first ahead, D-Wade and Paul would jockey for position, in my opinion), so, go ahead and take the ball out of his hands for a change when it matters the most.

I was gonna say the same thing, Ray is still a great starter material for a lot of team, maybe even for a contending team like the Thunder or Bulls

him coming off the bench can

A. the starting unit gets more athletic and younger with Bradley and Bass on the floor

B. Allen can help bring our bench production up, and Allen can actually get more shots. Allen should also get the green light to freely do whatever he wants on offense

C. As people said above, forces 2nd unit to play Allen

Okay, you can have your point too...I say, the reason Ray is shooting this way is the priciples behind all great jumpshooters....THEY need to be 100% from head to toe..and Ray is proof of that, as we have seen over the years. His form is so pure textbook, that when he goes into his move to shoot, everything must feel/execute perfectly...so you can imagine, if you ever tried to play with a sprained or almost recovered ankle, how that would effect his shooting....Ray has, over the years, made tough shots look easy...That running 8-10 foot BANK shot...no one can make that, his running forward 6 foot real-2-hand shot.....most guys would try some sort of layup or fadeaway, to stem the momentum...no, we have the real deal here......watch when he recovers..I always tell everyone at the gym, "If you have bad form, and want to learn HOW to shoot, watch and emulate Ray Allen..!"...Text book form.
