With the 21st pick the Boston Celtics Select:

Quote
Fab Melo

Position: C
Height: 7-foot
Weight: 274 pounds
Age: 21
School: Syracuse
Analysis: The Celtics are in desperate need of size. While Melo is miles away from being ready, he is big and can block shots and rebound. If he stays focused and in shape, he could be good value here.

With the 22nd pick via the Clippers the Boston Celtics Select:

Quote
Andrew Nicholson

Position: PF
Height: 6-foot-9
Weight: 222 pounds
Age: 22
School: St. Bonaventure
Analysis: Nicholson is another draft sleeper who may really rise with workouts. He's big stretch 4 who has drawn some comparisons to David West. He would be another welcome addition to the Celtics' summer makeover.

Rest of the Draft according to Ford:

1 )  New Orleans - Anthony Davis
2 )  Charlotte - Michael Kidd-Gilchrist
3 )  Washington - Bradley Beal
4 )  Cleveland - Harrison Barnes
5 )  Sacramento - Thomas Robinson
6 )  Portland - Andre Drummond
7 )  Golden State - Jared Sullinger
8 )  Toronto - Dion Waiters
9 )  Detroit - John Henson
10) New Orleands - Damian Lillard
11) Portland - Jeremy Lamb
12) Milwaukee - Perry Jones III
13) Phoenix - Terrence Ross
14) Houston - Tyler Zeller
15) Philadelphia - Arnett Moultrie
16) Houston - Terrence Jones
17) Dallas - Kendall Marshall
18) Minnesota - Austin Rivers
19) Orlando - Meyers Leonard
20) Denver - Moe Harkless
21) Boston - Fab Melo
22) Boston - Andrew Nicholson
23) Atlanta - Tony Wroten Jr.
24) Cleveland - Quincy Miller
25) Memphis - Evan Fournier
26) Indiana - Marquis Teague
27) Miami - Draymond Green
28) Oklahoma City - Jeff Taylor
29) Chicago - John Jenkins
30) Golden State - Royce White

I would have to go with Miller instead of Fab other then that the picks look good.

As fare as the mock as a total I have the following doubts.

Dion Waiters I can's see him going 8th just to high with this draft

I also think Harkless and Leonard jump up in the draft higher then 19+20. Especially after workouts and combine.

Utah has no picks. I wonder if when we are up and there is a pg prospect they want then they would trade us Milsap for it.

Milsap is in the last year of his deal and is only making around 8 mill next season. Jefferson likely won't be moved and Favors HAS got to get time. He was too impressive in the playoffs for him to not start.

iont want Fab Melo here he's lazy has low IQ nd is offensively challenged the more highlights of Nicholson I see the more I like nd hope he comes to us, nd I would like us to get Moe Harkless from St.Johns he's versatile wit a lot of potential

I have mentioned more times than I can say that I will puke if they pick Melo. Total waste. We desperately need a SG that can fill it up. SG is one of the stronger positions in this draft, C is awful. We need players that can play in transition, finish at the rim and get to the foul line. Melo is another Perkins. Waste of a pick at 21 or 22. We can get as good as a center by buying and early second rounder.

I'm not sure what direction Utah is going to want to go in there two best players are both PFs and two of the three best pieces to build with are PFs. Granted Both Kanter and Favors will not have any issues at C.

I can't see them wanted to trade for more youth and a PF but if I where danny I would at least offer 21+22+ resigned bass for Milsap. Dont think they take it but at least put it out there.

Of those players available in Ford's mock, there are several I would take before Melo....although I prefer Harkless who will be gone in his mock, Taylor from Vandy is going to have a solid career....high IQ, good defender and scorer

My thought is that if you can get Stiemsma for next to nothing, locking in money for a guy who people question his motor and ability to stay in shape scares me to death. We need scoring desperately, not another 6 fouls at the center position.

Not sold on Nicholson. It seems like he is just like JJJ. Fab Melo could be intresting too. I don't think it is a huge risk taking him at 22 Sure he has no offense but Perks was horrible too. Perk got taken at 26.

I would look to move up to late lottery or move down to the Cavs 2nd Rounders. The 34 and 25 pick could have 2 really good players like Draymond Green, Darius Miller, Festus Ezeli, William Buford, Tony Wroten, or solid centers like Henry Sims or Robert Sacre. Yep definitely talked myself into trading to the 2nd round.

However, if we stick at 21 and 22 I vote for using them for the best player available. We have a ot of holes to fill. Jeffrey Taylor looks good to me. Doron Lamb could be a good scorer off the bench. And who knows we might just get lucky and a player drops.

I'm thinking (and hoping) that Melo and Nicholson are Danny's decoys--and that he really wants Leonard and Moultrie.
