What should they do with it?

Move way up in draft?

Sign Mike Wallace?

Use the money on depth (multiple signings)?

Thoughts?

I think they'll extend Welker.  Brady is good friends with him and he was made to be the goat of the superbowl.

I think Wallace wants too much money, for the Pats.  San Fran seems more likely.

looking at the free agent list Wallace would be the only player that makes sense, but a deep threat isn't as much of a need now that they signed Lloyd.

I would try to move up in the draft and finally grab an impact pass rusher at the de/olb spot, or a stud play making safety or cb

that was for doing it during an uncapped year, this lowers this years cap hit but raises it the next 2 years.

as for what i want to see them do with it, i want them to trade picks for established players.

This, especially the pass rusher.

Maybe a trade for someone like Jared Allen?

*Edit* Even better, Matt Forte? The Bears just signed Bush, Forte is sending out angry tweets, we just lost BJGE, and we just cleared out 7mil in cap room.

O-line needs attention.  Koppen gone, Mankins recovering from ACL, and I heard today that Light AND Waters considering retirement.   I don't know who might be available -- perhaps the draft or wait for camp releases, but Pats need to replenish Brady protection.

I am eja and I approve this message. Plus I'm starting not to trust Vollmer's legs

Peter Konz should be available when the Patriots are picking if they decide to get a Center in the first round.

The Bears tagged Forte, which means if we did try to get him we'd have to give up a high draft pick. So no.

I may be wrong, but the Steelers are clearing some space and Big Ben redid his deal, so I'm sure he's going to remain a Steeler. Unless someone gives him a deal over 10mil a year.

Whoa, I agree whole heartedly, but what do you mean by Koppen gone? Did somebody sign him? I know he's on the Packer's radar, but as far as I know he's still out there. Marcus Cannon showed some promise, the Connelly resigning helps, but I'm sure they're going to wait for camps. They've done well making chicken salad out of other people's chicken poop, as Dante Scharnecchia may be the best offensive line coach in the league. That reason alone makes me feel like the Robert Gallery signing will be huge. And we always draft oline men in the later rounds and stash them.

I may end up looking foolish after posting this when draft time rolls around, but I really feel like we're going to go for another stud Defensive Tackle. It'd be awesome to take a guy like Poe to put next to Wilfork in a 4-3, or to have a guy who can eventually get Wilfork off the field for some snaps! Vince has been over used out of necessity, and he's the one guy if we lost on defense for an extended period of time, we'd be screwed. Plus, they always say the game is won at the line of scrimmage. I totally understand what they thought when they gave Haynesworth a shot. He's a really good pass rusher from the inside, is a house of a man who could really stuff the run with Wilfork next to him, and all that pressure up front would have helped to hide some of our troubles in the secondary. If Haynesworth could have given us something, it could have been the difference against a team like the Giants, but we know how that worked out.
