Hornets get both our first round picks, Ray Allen's expiring deal, JOs expiring deal, Wilcox's expiring deal, and Dooling's expiring deal.

Celts get Kaman, Eric Gordon, and have to take on Jarret Jacks salary.

First off I am not sure how high NO might be on Gordon. They couldn't get him signed to an extension and I believe he was looking for a Rondo type deal (5 yrs. 55 mill). Let's say they aren't that high on him though. Then they dump Jack, acquire two first rounders to go along with their two - 4 total in 2012, and they get what they wanted for Kaman (Stern's ego plays a part in this).

Honestly I am not sure DA would do this though. Giving up Ray for Gordon - who has a history of injuries - along with both 1st rounders in 2012, along with taking on salary for next year, and potentially just renting Kaman for the end of the year.

Again I don't know if either team would do this, but lets say they would. Would you?

No -- too much money tied up between Rondo, Gordon, Pierce (and to a lesser extent Jack) with too much still needed for the Celtics to become a title contender again.

I don't like the idea of investing a lot of money in Eric Gordon. Nice third option but not the high level star one would hope to put alongside a Rajon Rondo.

Dream World Option

Then again, if you could amnesty Pierce and trade Jack to a team below the cap and convince Dwight Howard to join ... sure, I'd do that trade.

Non-Dwight Howard Option

Short of a Dwight Howard figure joining, I think the most realistic team building option going forward with Rondo and E.Gordon is to make a team somewhat in the mold of the 2004 Detroit Pistons -- four high level starters who have All-Star quality (Rondo and E.Gordon gives you 2 outta 4), one good starter and a high level bench.

It could be difficult finding the money / cap flexibility to fund those pieces (over the next few years) depending on how much Eric Gordon gets paid (I am guessing a lot) though. Which is my main concern with signing Eric Gordon now.

Oh yeah, New Orleans definitely doesn't do this. Nowhere near enough value to part with Eric Gordon.

Need to send them back a star player to get the Hornets to part with him.

I would do anything that got Dwight in Boston.

Also I was wrong. Gordon wanted something like 58 mill over 4 years. That's too much money in my opinion. If he was on a Rondo type deal or one where he averaged 12 mill per season then I would consider him.

He has the skill set to play the same way Ray does and then some. I think if we built around Rondo we need to be going for an All Star shooter (Ray Allen mold) and one isolation player in the mold of Pierce.

I second that.

Also, I'm still extremely extremely interested in their first+Okafor proposal

They would likely move the minny pick and not their pick. Still if Okafor is healthy I would be interested too.
