O.K., call me crazy, but I've often been intrigued by Andrea Bargnani's game.  I was just reading an article at NBA.COM about the Raptors relying on Valanciunas to come over next year and be their center of the future.

I don't think Bargs really belongs in Toronto anymore.  I don't know what it would take, but I could get excited about a Rondo/Bargnani rebuilding core going forward.  I know Andrea's contract is long, but both guys are paid considerably below superstar money.  There'd still be a considerable amount of dough to build a solid team around those guys.

If you told me that Toronto would trade him for Ray, I think I would be in.

DKC Seventy-Sixers:

PG: G. Hill/D. Schroder
SG: C. Lee/B. Hield/T. Luwawu
SF:  Giannis/J. Lamb/M. Kuzminskas
PF:  E. Ilyasova/J. Jerebko/R. Christmas
C:    N. Vucevic/K. Olynyk/E. Davis/C. Jefferson

There would be absolutely no reason for the Raptors to trade Bargnani for an expiring contract. They're not going to be players in FA this summer and have no use for Ray.

I believe they are planning on playing Bargnani (PF) and Valanciounas (C) together.

It's more Ed Davis' and Amir Johnson's place in Toronto's long term plans that is in question.

Unless they get to draft Anthony Davis or Drummond I can't see them moving Bargs. I would take him though.

Bargnani played at an all star level before his injury. If he had stayed healthy the Raptors could have been in the field of teams just below .500 competing for the 8th seed.

I agree with Kane3387, that Bargs will only be available if they get one of the top two big men prospects. It's funny though, because Raptors fans were really tired of him a year ago, and said they were going nowhere with him. Enter coach Casey, and they find out that he can play defense and rebound, and is a much better pf than c.
