i think those are bandwagon fans..celtics fan that where around remember dino radja...and yes rick fox was not only a laker...who did the shimmy..?

i guess being a fan for so many years and went thru that losing time no one was a fan and i got dissed for years being a c's fans...

then kg and ray comes then everyone rocking that #5 jersey...now the celtics are kool

I am a fan of KG. Became a fan of the Celtics because of him. If he's traded or when he retires, I think I'll still be a Celtic fan. Love the culture here.

A fan is a fan ... no matter what gets you here, all that matters is sharing the love for this team, and being a part of what Celtic pride is all about.

Bandwagons roll like any other ride, and green is green, no matter what the hue.

It is funny living in Boston the first year the new big 3 get assembled and you just see people jogging around town sportin the KG and Ray t-shirts.

I don't mind it. The more fans, whether bandwagon or not the better. I love how the entire city has embraced the Celtics and got people excited about them, even though I have always been into them.

It's especially nice now, every team doing well, great time to live in boston

I think you guys that see fans not wanting to watch the Celtics when they are bad are confusing Celtic fans and bandwagon fans.

Fandom is like a hurricane category rating system

Cat 1 - Non Fan. Could care less if basketball ever existed

Cat 2 - Bandwagon Fan. Likes basketball, but likes being associated with a winning basketball team, hopefully championship winning team, even more so only roots for winning teams and tends to jump to another winning team when the original winning team starts losing or is no longer champion.

Cat 3 - Casual Fan. Likes basketball and is infatuated with one team but doesn't put much stock in whether that team wins or loses. Sure they are happy when their team wins and disappointed when they lose but it really isn't that important in their lives.

Cat 4 - Fan. Loves basketball and loves a team. Winning is joyful and losing hurts, a lot. Sometimes this means during the tough times they may not follow as closely but they are still loyal to their team.

Cat 5 - Die Hard Fan. Loves basketball and is devoted to their team through the best and worst of times and will watch every game including exhibition and summer league and watch the draft to see who their team drafts.

well done Nick.  I'm a definite 5 on that scale.  I followed the team every year since Bird's rookie year and enjoyed the ride the entire time---ups and downs.  watch as many games as possible including if I have to tape them and watch them later. 

definitely follow the draft and will keep watching at least until Danny has made all his scheduled picks (and sometimes the full draft wondering if Danny pulled off a last-second deal for a late second-rounder).  that may be more a sign of mental illness than fandom though
