KG may be 7 feet but he is no more a center than Kevin Durant.  We can skate with him at the 5 against some of the size challenged Eastern conference teams,. but any team with a true center in size or height, can eat us alive on the inside like the lakeshow did today.  We need a true 5 so KG can go back to the 4 and Bass can give our bench back its scoring punch.

It's hard to blame Doc, though; KG is by far the best option we have there right now.

I don't see how any of this relates to Doc. Outside of Steamer, who is not a starter in the NBA (or should really be in a rotation), who else do you propose Doc plays there?

I think you meant to direct this at Danny. Doc is the coach. Danny does the roster moves.

I mean really who else do you want to put there? We have played our best ball with KG a center so stop complaining. Why don't you go get us another center then

KG has been great at center all season.  He played well against Dwight Howard when we beat Orlando twice.  He more than holds his own against most centers in the league, and he presents a matchup problem on the offensive side for opposing centers.

I'd like to have someone who can chew up some more minutes in the frontcourt if JO and Wilcox are done for the season, but KG has absolutely been up to the task.
DKC Seventy-Sixers:

SG: C. Lee/B. Hield/T. Luwawu
SF:  Giannis/J. Lamb/M. Kuzminskas
PF:  E. Ilyasova/J. Jerebko/R. Christmas
C:    N. Vucevic/K. Olynyk/E. Davis/C. Jefferson

+1. At this point in his career, KG is more of a 5 at than he is a 4.

How do you propose that happens with no money and no good centers available?

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
we really don't need a true starting center for the playoffs though.
We have to get through Miami and Chicago.
KG and Bass can handle Noah and Boozer.
And the Heat have Bosh and Anthony.
If we did get to the finals it's most likely OKC. Lakers probably aren't getting that far.
Wouldn't worry about it too much.
If we got that far without one, we have found a way to win without one and our defense can make up for a lack of rebounding.
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

KG is Celtics best center since 40 year old Shaquille O'neal. True Story. Sorry Kendrick Perkins.

I like KG at the five too.   He should have tried to block Bynum some instead of the pushing down low.  But he is a better five than four these days.
