It's a shame that we don't really have one now and will be in the market to sign one in the offseason. I hope we can get one out of Dwight Howard, Javale McGee, Omer Asik, Brook Lopez, or Chris Kaman. If we get any of those we're going to have to pay at least $6 MM for them next year.

I don't think he sucks, he's still just very raw.

But I agree about Shaq, if he could somehow stay healthy and last 30+ minutes... he'd still be one of the most effective players in the game.

He's young fairly athletic, rebounds and plays good defense. He's certainly in the second tier of centers but the top tier of centers is going to run you $8 MM minimum.

Would you prefer Robin Lopez, Ian Mahinmi, Jordan Hill, Semih Erden, or Greg Oden at center?

If we get a center in the draft I bet we grab someone from the second tier (maybe both turkish 5's). I would be shocked if you don't see at least 4 new bigs on the team next year.

To be honest unless I'm getting one of the best centers in the league than thats the last position I want to invest money in right now. I especially don't want to invest money like that in a guy who has been getting back up minutes the past couple years.

Yeah, the center position is really weak right now.  But that's why Deandre Jordan is worth the money, as limited as he seems.
