Ray, Marquis and Jermaine for
Beasely, Webster and Brad Miller.

KG / Brad Miller
Bass / Wilcox
Pierce / Beasely
Pietrus / Webster
Rondo / Bradley

Minny gets rid of contracts and guys who aren't in their long term plans (Beasely, Webster). Ray, Marquis and Jermaine give them a good vet presence for a playoff run. The Celtics get players to make a run this year and all are tradeable next season as they all have one year contracts after this season.

  • Rondo = Good
Not unless we get a 1st rounder for it.

KG / Brad Miller
Bass / Wilcox
Pierce / Beasely
Pietrus / Webster
Rondo / Bradley
I would lineup like this:

KG / Wilcox / Brad Miller
Beasley / Bass
Pierce / Webster
Pietrus / Pavlovic / Dooling
Rondo / Bradley

Need a better backup wing to make it worthwhile.

Webster is no longer good enough to be a key rotation player on a contender following that back injury.

Hell no.  Webster has a terribly low basketball IQ, Beasley doesn't care about basketball, and Miller is equivelent to O'Neal

I think Bass' role gets cut down pretty severely by Beasley's arrival.

I am not comfortable with Beasley at SF or with Bass and Beasley out there together as a big man pairing. As a big man pairing, there isn't enough interior defense or rebounding. Lacking in size also. They'd be too vulnerable.

Plus, Bass is basically a poor man's Beasley as an undersized offensively orientated (mid-range jump-shooting) big man. He does nothing offensively that Beasley doesn't do better and very little in terms of defense/rebounding that Beasley can't match. So the team would pretty much always be best served playing Beasley long minutes and Bass short minutes instead of splitting them more evenly and keeping Bass in a 25+mpg role.

So I think I'd trade Bass in a scenario where Boston lands Michael Beasley.

A Bass for Ariza trade could be interesting for the Celtics.

The team would still need another rotation worthy backup big man. Not convinced Brad Miller is still that player. If Boston could get Darko in that trade package instead of Miller, that may be interesting.

C  - Garnett, Darko, Stiemsma
PF - Beasley, Wilcox, JJJ
SF - Pierce, Ariza
SG - Pietrus, Pavlovic, Dooling
PG - Rondo, Bradley, Moore

I think Webster is fine as Pierce's backup.  He is playing fairly well in Minnesota and seems to be getting stronger now that he is getting back in the flow (aside from last night he had played between 20 and 35 minutes a game for the last ten or so).
2025 Historical Draft - Cleveland Cavaliers - 1st pick

Starters - Luka, JB, Lebron, Wemby, Shaq
Rotation - D. Daniels, Mitchell, G. Wallace, Melo, Noah
Deep Bench - Korver, Turner

The "talent" coming in is not enough.  If we trade Ray or any of the Big 3, we are giving up on this season.  We better get a lottery pick.

Beasley's intriguing, but guys like Webster are a dime a dozen and Miller is almost as shot as JO.  Basically, it's a trade of Ray for Beasley and that's a big N-O.
