  • Rondo = Good
I think if Rondo is traded, either this season or over the summer, Avery could be a capable starting point guard, at least.

I think if he were handed the keys to the offense of a rebuilding team lacking scoring options, he might even be able to average 12-15 points a night.  His ideal role is probably always going to be as a utility combo-guard off the bench, though.

other than the fact that he can't dribble and pass I totally agree that he could be a starting point guard.

He's already started a number of games this season and he's been serviceable in that role, I think.  He makes his living on defense, and it's necessary to have another primary ball-handler out there with him, but I think you could do a lot worse than staring Avery in a kind of "super athletic Derek Fisher" kind of role.
That's what Laker's fans thought Shannon Brown would be too. Though he never was the sort of defender Bradley was for more than small stretches.

If Avery is ever as useful as Shannon Brown I'll be perfectly happy with that, considering how lost he looked last year and where he was taken in the draft.

Westbrook was 11-24 in the game.

You do realize that is about 46% from the field?  That is pretty good shooting for a guard.  His usual average is 47% so what is your point?

How about this one.  He had 31 points and averages 23.6 PPG.   Sorry but the facts do not add up that he defended Westbrook well.  Don't try to tell me it was Moore or Dooling either as Bradley played 35 minutes.

I think we've got unrealistic expectations if we're holding Bradley to a standard of stopping Russell Westbrook, who is one of the top scorers in the league.

Dooling guarded Westbrook every time he came in the game. I'm not sure how many of those buckets came against Dooling but it was at least a few.

Further more Westbrook did a lot of scoring via the pick and roll, in which case the shots that were made could have been attributed to poor showing by the bigs.

Watching the game I thought Bradley's defense on Westbrook was nothing less than elite.

What impressed me more than his defense was his running of the pick and pop with kg, how he aggressively attacked the rim and knocked down open jumpers. My only gripe with his play last game was he could have shot more.

I knew I liked what I saw the last game right before the all-star break. This Celtics team now knows that they are still capable of being contenders, and they have clearly looked at what their mistakes were and are making a very clear effort to cut down on them. The results of that thus far are very positive.

Even Rondo is now back to playing the proper role that he should be playing for this team. The Celtics now would be crazy to trade him. Just build around him, because there's too much potential there, and there's just no way you're going to get equal value for someone like Rondo.

I was one of the most disappointed with him over a stretch this season, but even the shots he missed today, I wasn't angry at him for. They were well within his ability to make, and he still did all of it within the flow of the offense, clearly looking to get other players involved in the game.

Let's keep in mind the Celtics have yet to play a really good team since the All-Star break.

I don't think that's the case. This knicks team is very good, very good. They are seriously underrated, and no team wants them in the first round.

But more than that, most top teams get their victories from the games against everybody else, not always against all the elite teams in the league. This win is the kind of win that this Celtics squad needs more of. These are the kinds of grind it out games that tell you a lot about a team. The Celtics are back to being their confident selves who know they can win a championship when they play their game, and don't beat themselves.

The day that Avery Bradley starts over a point guard with the caliber talent of Rajon Rondo, is the day the Hubie Brown stops endless ramblings.

It wont, and will never happen.
