There are a lot of sites (including blakely) that claim the clippers are extremely interested in Allen. That's not really much of a surprise seeing he's a better Chauncy Billups and would therefore upgrade after losing him to an achilles injury.

Thinking about it like that, I feel as though the clippers are gonna push hard for him... he'd make their team deadly. CP3, Griffin, Ray Ray draining 3s, its a nightmare..

Anyway what do you think Danny could get for him (no site reports the offers)? Rays got a 10m expiring contract. I could see them maybe throwing out pieces like Bledsoe, Gomes, maybe Randy Foye? We already have their first round pick so thats not an option.

What do you guys think?

I'm not sure what'd we'd want that would be more valuable than Ray's expiring money.

Something like this works for me.

Celtics Trades Ray Allen, Rondo and Jermaine
Celtics Receive Steve Nash, Shannon Brown, Al Jefferson

Phoenix Trades Steve Nash and Shannon Brown
Phoenix Receives Eric Bledsoe and Mo Williams

Clippers Trade Mo Williams and Eric Bledsoe
Clippers Receive Ray Allen

Utah Trades Al Jefferson
Utah Receives Rondo and O'Neal

Celtics start Nash, Brown, Pierce, Garnet and Jefferson and next season have a lot of cap room to sign players, with really just Pierce and Jefferson under contract.

Well, Randy Foye would definitely be coming back and my guess is Ryan Gomes and a bunch of cash to buy him out would also be coming this way with a 2014 1st round pick

I'd want Bledsoe in that deal but I think that's exactly the package we would want for Ray.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

A first round pick next year or the year after -- more valuable than a few million in cap space.

First off there's probably 3 or 4, 4 team trades in the history of the NBA.  Also, you're not going to get Nash and Brown for Allen (which is essentially what we would trade).  Why would the Suns do that?  It makes no sense for them. They can get more for Nash than that.

Plus the Clippers aren't going to trade their #2 and #3 PG's in the same trade...  Also, I just don't see us picking up Jefferson.  You don't trade Rondo for a nice player.  You trade him for another All Star.  We've been there and done that big Al...

I think the Clips can only get Ray if they find a 3rd team interested in one of their disposable guards.

The C's have little reason to take on Williams or Gomes, and Bledsoe isn't much of a sweetener with Rondo and Bradley on the team: no minutes available.

Problem is, I don't see a Bledsoe/Foye/Gomes package or Mo Williams fetching much around the league.  There's hardly a paucity of combo guards in the league.

Better off trading Ray/Daniels to Chicago for Korver/Brewer/1st round pick or just keeping him.

2025 Draft: Chicago Bulls

PG: Chauncey Billups/Deron Williams
SG: Kobe Bryant/Eric Gordon
SF: Jimmy Butler/Danny Granger/Danilo Gallinari
PF: Al Horford/Zion Williamson
C: Yao Ming/Pau Gasol/Tyson Chandler

something like that would be feasible:
Bledsoe, Gomes and 2014 1st rounder (protected until 2018 if necessary).  not sure about Gomes' contract.  If it's not expiring, need cash to buy him out.  If expiring, cut Daniels and keep Gomes for the year.

Gomes is signed for this year and next at 4 mm per

And Bledsoe and Gomes isn't enough to make the numbers work.

That's why Foye has to come here. He's expiring and at about $4.25 million a year. Coupled with Gomes' $4 million a year, that makes the numbers work. The Clips send $3 million to pay for a Gomes buyout for next year and a 2014 first round pick.

So everyone comes off the books and we have basically paid nothing for a 2014 late first rounder.

Maybe we can ask for Trey Thompkins too and send them Stiemsma.
