Why not acquire Beasley and his bird rights... that gives the C's another option for this summer. Hell he's a young kid with serious upside. That's way better than just rotting away and banking everything on landing a superstar.

But at what cost? What would we have to give up?

I hate potheads.  Beasley is the sort of player I just want to stay away from.

Imagine Jeff Green with more upside and less likelihood to reach his potential.  The plus to acquiring him is that he will probably perform in a way that makes him way more polarizing than Rondo on this forum.

I would much rather have Jeff Green than Michael Beasly.

but, the value I see in beasly is that you use him the rest of the year as a scorer..and then you have his bird rights in case you want to trade him in the summer.

I'm all for it - there's pretty much no risk to getting him. He could blossom here and become a building block, or if he doesn't pan out, we let him walk after his contract expires at the end of the season. All we'd need to give up for him is probably JO and a second rounder or so. Minnesota doesn't value him highly at all

and, if we have his bird rights, we could do a sign and trade in the offseason like we did with the BBD-Bass trade

  • Rondo = Good
Beasley looking darn good right now against the Clippers....

Between Beasley and Brook Lopez both going off, I guess it was a big night for no-defense volume shooters who don't rebound like they should.

In any case, this performance can only up his trade value.  I wonder if he's motivated to prove his worth to some team that might consider trading for him?

....and who would perhaps exercise their Bird rights for him..he is in a contract year....

Yeah, he's in a contract year, and he's not often going to get his chance to prove that he deserves a big fat contract as long as he remains with the T-Wolves.

He and Derrick Williams only got the opportunity to play so much tonight get Love went out with a rib injury.

The big problem for both Williams and Beasley is that they're both probably best suited to play at PF.

While reading all 11 pages of replies and seeing everyone's own opinions and views, while a lot of posts made sense and had relevance, here's my take.

With the team playing like we've been playing, I don't see why we wouldn't take this risk.

Nearly half of the replies were commenting about Beasley's efficiency rating.  The way I look at it, the kid (He's only 23) Can score the basketball. If his percentages aren't so good, well, look at the rest of our roster.. The same team that can go an entire game , let alone quarter to actually score.

He's talented, young, and yeah, maybe he has his issues, but I think he would thrive in Green, a franchise built on teamwork, heart, and pride... No disrespect, but can you say the same for the Heat, or the TWolves (Beasley's resume up until now? ) Do they have 17 banners? do they have future HOF Veterans on the roster now? Miami has their All Star talent... But how many rings does Lebron have?... Oh.

I'd love to see Michael Beasley, as well as Anthony Randolph on the Celtics.
