If the Celtics are thinking about trading Rondo then go after Monta Ellis.. Dwight has him on the list of people he would like to play with and quite frankly would be down right scary with the Celtics. They could do a deal straight up since him and Rondo's contracts are pretty close to the same. Could you imagine Defenses trying to stop Monta KG RAY and Paul.. we all know they can slack of Rondo but Monta has the scoring punch to beat people himself. Also those who say he isn't a PG who has he got to pass to? David Lee and thats really it. Steph curry has been hurt a good amount of the season. You put him with a lineup of

I think we have to think further then this season. I really love Monta Ellis but we don't have the assets to trade for him. GSW is still in love with Curry so why should they trade for Rondo, have to be a 3team deal, otherwise it makes no sense at all.

Monta's offense is incredible and just what the celtics needs. One explosive guy who can score 40 on a night. On the other side, at this moment he is just a weak defender. Maybe he can learn some but he doesn't look like an all defense team type of player.

In the end of the day, i would love to have Ellis, but just how. I don't see a way.

I agree probably a third team.. Or the they keep the small guard play let rondo find curry and be the shooter that he is off the catch.. But yes more then likley a third team is needed. Just would love him here, and defense wise he is good in the passing lanes and I think is a willing defender and could learn under doc. Rondo is good but a big problem this year is letting guards get into the paint so Rondo isn't do so hot in that department either.

Rajon Rondo is a fantastic defender to be honest, made all defense team last year? Probably the best defensive PG in this league.

His wife had some drama there with Monta and some intern. I'm sure she'd love a change of scenery. Plus who knows with all the Celtic basketball wives on that show maybe she can get added as a new cast member lol. Or at least help Ray rays wife in that cooking show she has haha. Some of her stuff looks delicious. I don't see Ray eatin it before a game though.

Monta is from the Iverson/Arenas school of ballhoggery.  You can't actually win with a player like that.  THere's a clear reason why Golden State has been trying to dump him for years.  He gets you stats but he can't fit into a system.  He just needs to control the ball and chuck up 20+ shots a night.  It was cute and all until they landed Steph curry... who plays the same position, but is one of the greatest shooters in the league (48% FG, 45% from three, 90% from the line)... Ellis is holding him back and taking far more shots.  They'd LOVE to dump him on Boston and get someone in return who can fit in a system.  Imagine Golden State if they had Rondo playing PG and Ellis playing his natural SG position.  It's a Warriors' fan dream.

Monta has played in one system out in GS and thats run run run. And players like this can win as long as surronded with the right players, I think he would be a good fit here because the Celtics are missing someone who can take the game over and with youth on his side.

Monta is the Anti-rondo

They share alot of physical traits but there playing style are at the two extremes of the pg position.

As much as Rondo's unwillingness to shoot a jumper kills us, Monta's unwillingness to pass would kill us.

To me its like trading a sports car that's got loads of power but with poor handling for one that handles great but has no power. Toss Up

Sorry, but as much as Rondo hesitates from shooting jumpers as he can, Monta hates to pass. It's the same with Iverson. It's hard for a guy who was the main scorer for his team, and "the franchise player" to adjust to a sidekick roll, to dish out assists for someone else to shoot.. Think about it, it would only be worthy for us if they threw in a player or two with him and a pick or two. And even then it would be an almost rip-off.

First off, Ellis isn't a PG, so stop that talk.

Secondly, Iverson and Arenas never had a season where they scored over 20 points per game, and shot over 50% from the floor.

Ellis has the reputation of being the Iverson/Arenas mold, but he's not.. He has shot over 53% from the floor one year, scoring over 20 points. That's [dang] impressive. He's a guy who needs to be mentored by a winning franchise like Boston. Put him in green with a year or 2 next to Allen, Pierce, and Garnett, and I believe he'd be an absolute STAR... But I'm not trading Rondo for him, so the chance so of getting him are slim
