Bos trades: Rondo, O’Neal, LAC pick
Bos receives: Deron Williams, Shelden Williams

NJ trades: Williams, Williams, 1st round pick (top 10 protected)
NJ receives: Rondo, J Smith

Atl trades: J Smith
Atl receives: Humphries, O’Neal, NJ 1st, LAC pick

Celts land Deron, make another run with big 3 and begin rebuild next year.

NJ lands two all-stars for 1, increases odds at Dwight acquisition.

Atl acquires two expirings and 2 1st rounders.  20+ mil coming off books at end of year.

Hawks would be least likely to say yes, but if slide continues in the standings maybe they consider.

If you ran a lineup that started any combination of
Rajon Rondo
Josh Smith
Dwight Howard
that may be concidered the worst jump shooting lineup of all time.

But it would also be a superb defensive lineup that would be a constant threat on the fastbreak.  Put shooters on the wings to compliment.

New Jersey doesn't make this deal.

Howard is going to join Deron in Brooklyn. Let's all accpet it and move on.

What would Orlando get for Dwight from the Nets?  Brook Lopez, expirings and a pick?  I think they'd take any variation of a Lakers offer before that package.

Let's leave Atlanta out of this and do this between us and the Nets once D12 goes to the Lakers.

Rondo,Keyon and either one of Daniels or Pavlovic for Deron.

No picks hopefully involved or at worst a top 20 protected pick in 2013.

Best case scenario is Howard is traded to the Lakers...Then NJ would really consider a Rondo for Deron trade.

I really like Humphries a LOT!!!  An old school work ethic that would IMMEDIATELY help on the boards night in and night out.  I LOVE his game.

How about Deron and Humphries for JO, Rondo, and Bass??

We would have to get Humphries to agree to this trade, which of COURSE he would, but we would NOT have his Bird rights, which would suck.

Thoughts on that deal??

Am I alone in much preferring Rondo at his contract to Deron Williams at roughly 6 or 7 million more (and 2 years less)? Then again, I think this team should build around Rondo and desperately want him to remain a Celtic (and while we're at it: no Howard. Just don't want to root for that guy on my team). But, that aside, I don't think the difference in players is as large as the difference in contract.

also, people on this blog sure love to complain about perceived faults with Rondo's attitude. Deron Williams acts far more like a petulant child than Rondo ever has. The talk around Utah was largely true. He did drive Sloan to retirement and force himself out of there. But, hey, the grass is always greener right? Easier to complain about what you have and idealize what you don't.

Don't know about alone, but I certainly don't agree with you.

At all.
Coined the CelticsBlog term, "Euromistake."

Deron Williams is fairly superior to Rondo. The problem is if he bolts by the end of the season. I'd run that risk though. However, I think New Jersey is willing to do the same.

I would prefer to break-up the big 3 to see what they could bring back before trading Rondo but it takes 2 to tango. So if a trade is not there for the big 3 Rondo may have to go for a better future. Chances of getting Howard 1%, chances of getting Deron 15% (if Howard is traded to NJ 0%)
