Plans for a new Seattle sports arena could be announced Thursday at a news conference. So far, the mayor won't say anything, and the man who could finance the deal is only hinting at it. Nevertheless, people are buzzing about the possibility. The new stadium would be located just south of CenturyLink Field and Safeco Field in Seattle's SoDo district. Chris Hansen, hedge fund manager and Seattle native, tells KOMO News we'll have to wait for some big announcement today - sometime on Thursday.

Would serve as home to both NBA and NHL teams. Interesting.

Would certainly be nice to have Seattle back in the NBA.

I bet it'd be a great NHL town too.  The Seattle Coyotes?

Yeah. Bring back the Supes!

The Seattle Coyotes?

I think they'd change it up to reflect the Northwest. Cougars maybe? Seattle had an old team called the Metropolitans. We'll see what happens, if something happens..

I'd sure hope so.  Seattle Coyotes sounds ridiculous.

Would love it, as long as a team wasn't ADDED to the NHL/NBA. A team like the Coyotes would have to move, and maybe the Sacremento Kings.

Seattle got screwed by the NBA and the Thunder ownership (some pretty vile, religious extremists, from what I've read). I hope they get a team back there, as it is a city that loves hoops.
