Probably because he's only scored more than 5 points twice this season.

Was gonna say, I know everything seems like an upgrade but honestly Semih does not average those numbers. The Steamer had 13 pts earlier this season its the same type of thing...

is this real life?  :o I'm shocked looking at the boxscore. Semih went to work tonight. NBA is truly where amazing happens.

edit: Even more impressive he did it against Roy Hibbert. Semih outplayed an Allstar. Danny Ainge what he have you done. J/K

edit2: Till this day however I never understood that trade. Semih for a late second pick. Semih played his heart out with injured shoulder.

edit3: What if Semih Erden turns into Jeremy Lin of Turkey? DA what have you done man.

edit4: Rondo was perfect from behind the arc tonight 1/1. What in the world is on going?

edit5: Rondo led the league in scoring tonight. A night where 26 teams saw action. I think Mayans were right. 2012 is the END

edit6: Ben JORDAN lit Ray Allen old ass up like a Christmas tree. smh

edit7: whoever is still reading this, here's an article about that stat man (http://hoopsanalyst.com/blog/?p=487) who predicated Jeremy Lin successes in 2010 http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424052970204880404577225562995441868.html

i have always felt that he could have contributed and developed even more had he stayed with us..semih is a formidable "big", somebody we could post-up, always ready to bang with the likes of varejao..he was a good finisher on the break and above the rim, always ready for a put-back , soft touch for his size, decent FT shooter, basically european bigs smarts..i'd love to have him on my team again, given the chance, he could easily integrate with what he has left off in our system..

Certainly not his average.  He is averaging 3 PPG and 2.4 RPG.

He had one good game.   It's not like it is going to be Erdensanity now like Lin.

Certainly, last night was an aberration for Semih - but I didn't like him being essentially given away last year, certainly not with all the injury issues we had at the 5.  I do think he can develop into a decent, rotation big - ideally your fifth big man, but someone who can play a little.  Liked that he was able to run, seemed to have good hands and a decent feel for the game.  Too lithe to ever play too much in the post, and wouldn't expect him to be an above-average defender or rebounder - but should be passable in those areas.

Of course, the fact that Semih's replacement (Troy Murphy) was completely useless makes the trade look worse.

Given the dropoff in Steamer's play since early on, I wouldn't mind having Semih on the roster right now - he'd help.  Still, he's not a difference-maker.

The injury issues at the 5 were exactly why he was traded, since there was concern that he wouldn't have been able to play in the playoffs.  It was already known that he would need surgery after the season.  He played one game for Cleveland, then was out for a month with an injury, and came back to play three games before being injured and missing the last game of the season.

He scored a bunch of points in what was essentially garbage time running pick and roll with a top PG.  Not all that impressive.

Either I'm having the deja vu of a lifetime, or this is in reference to something that has been specifically said before.

Standard answer to any scrub having a breakout game.
