then he needs to get Kaman.  Kaman dropped 27 and 13 last night and he's exactly what we need.

Kaman and Jason Smith for JO, Bass, Dooling, Wilcox, the Clippers pick, Cavs 2nd rounder in 2013, and the Nets 2014 2nd rounder.

Kaman replaces JO
Jason Smith replaces Wilcox
JJJ takes over Bass' role
Avery or Moore take over Dooling's role (which they pretty much have anyway).

Note: I don't see Kaman getting bought out, and even if he is who knows if he'll sign here.

Note: the two open roster spots can either go to buyout candidates or D-League kids that might be able to provide depth.

I DO know the feeling. Sometimes the time of day has something to do with it. TP for the post.

A healthy Kaman would be great for us, and would possibly put us in contention, but to give up JO/Bass/Wilcox and anything happens to Kaman, we're screwed. He hasn't been the picture of health ths year and the past few years and it's a huge gamble for us. NO gets the picks and local boy Bass.

Maybe they do it. For us, I don't know.A fragile Kamen, Stiemsma, KG and JJJ is a thin front line and one injury away from packing it in

no need to give up bass salary's work with out him..

http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=7vpvow6

for safe keeping you can add one of the TPE'S from last year

for them to bite we'll have to add maybe a 2nd rounder though

Like your thinking as far as not having to give up both Bass and Wilcox. It also works giving them Bass and keeping Wilcox.

I would have to think for awhile as to which to give up. Bass has been playing well as the 6th man and can shoot. Wilcox brings more length, energy and athleticism. Bass will bolt at season's end.

Maybe I'd keep Wilcox for what he brings as Kaman, KG and JJJ can shoot.

Thanks for the TP.  I hit you back with one as well.  I agree that Kaman is definitely an injury concern, but I think it's a risk Danny has to take.  We desperately need someone with a post game who can score down low.  Kaman also rebounds well and blocks shots.  If he's super-concerned about Kaman holding up, then he could always try and lure Przybilla out of hiatus (for extra depth).

I agree that Kaman is worth the risk, because as costituted, we have a chance, but a very slim one. With a Kaman who can give us 75-80% of his career numbers, we're contenders, although still behind Mia and Chi.

I like stylo's idea above about giving up only one of Bass/Wilcox. Hopefully NO bites on that.

I'd try to give up Bass and keep Wilcox.

And I wouldn't part with any 1st round picks, perhaps our own 2nds for a year or two.

KG/Wilcox/JJJ
Kaman/Wilcox/Steimsma

I think it works to tighten the rotation for the playoffs to KG/Kaman/Wilcox, with either JJJ or Steimsma worked in the 1st half during the season to limit foul trouble and keep legs fresh for 4th quarter.

Bass would be a nice edition for them, and given Kaman's injury history I would think we wouldn't have to give up all those picks....one or two second rounders at most.  Otherwise we start to shoot ourselves in the foot....

Agree in that particular deal makes more sense to keep Wilcox than Bass, based partly on size alone....and C's depth at PF.

Kaman is an expiring contract himself, N.O. isn't going to just want expiring deals in return.  They want youth or picks.  No thanks to that, as no draft pick worth renting Chris Kaman for 2 months.  He is not the answer to our many problems.  I realize what the topic of this thread is, but the discussion should be about who we're shipping out for draft picks, not the other way around.

We need a center period. Kaman may be the best available; but Wilcox is clearly more comfortable at PF so we have basically been playing without reliable true center since Perk left.
